it doesn't matter what category it is, it can still do a lot of damage. hope it doesn't do very much.

Thank-You that was the simple point I was trying to point out, I just didn't convey the message I was trying to deliver very well.

I give up. Ok, in case any of you are interested I'm building an ark out back of my house, so you know, just in case you wanna come along. That's my last post in this thread though.

swing by my place will ya...

my address is.........

:P

wind finally staring to pick up just a little.... real wind intensifying later tonight around 8pm Eastern Time....

I will say this, if you go outside right now, its very eerie atmosphere. Creepy. I'm having flashbacks of my hurricanes of past experience.... :uhoh:

I need a beer.......

It is really creepy, that "calm before the storm" literally. . .

If it was legal I'd be having a drink too. :P

If you think of this in terms of someone bringing a gun to a school the reaction makes a lot of sense.

You're just being ridiculous, and you're not considering some people are indeed scared and whatever consequences might come out of a tiny little hurricane cat 2. You are overreacting about people being concerned, want attention? Go to where the hurricane hits and juggle something or dance something fun k!

I have never been in a hurricane, but I fear them. They are also full of tornadoes.

^this!! That is something to defo be scared of!! :uhoh:

Having lived in the Northern Isles of Scotland I certainly know what a 100mph storm is like. I'll never forget one back in January 2005 where I feared the windows would blow in. Seeing as the populated areas were all coastal towns and villages there was a lot of flooded homes even houses getting battered by the crashing waves from the coast.

And tomorrow we're experiencing gusts around 70mph coming off Norway. But it is quite normal if you know the north of Scotland!

Yup, I definitely want attention, that's it. Hey guess what, when it hits where I am at will be a category one. You wanna know why people are scared? Because the news wants them to be scared. The news has brain washed everybody to think that this is the end of the world, and guess what you keep watching the news which is what they want. Hurricane Hazel, please. When the rain is up to my roof you guys can say I told you so. That ark offer is still up for grabs you guys. I know I said it would be my last post but we all knew that wasn't gonna happen.

Yeah lots of people don't have power right now but this is going to be nowhere near as detrimental as the news makes it out to be.

Wow,:shocked2: How old are you?? This really can't be the way you feel.. You come off so cold and non caring, and angry. The point is not to scare people, but to make them aware of what can happen and what to prepare for, if you chose to believe it's brainwashing that's your perogative, please go build that Ark you said you were starting up in your backyard, because I am sure the people who are in trouble with flooding in their areas will want your assistance in getting out.

haha i'm gonna take that lightly, because in no way am i angry. I'm just trying to show you my opinion. Yes the news does brainwash you, not only for this but ALL the time. They get you scared and worried for their ratings. Anderson Cooper is a scare and worry special. :D I don't think there will be severe flooding anywhere as a result of Irene. I'm not gonna talk in definite terms as I was because I understand that other people have opinions as well. However, on the flip side you are talking as if there WILL be flooding no matter what. As neither one of us can see into the future, I suggest we leave it at that and go back to the Mylo Xyloto forum.

If you're so nonchalant about a hurricane, why don't you take a nice trip to the Jersey Shore and go surfing, after all a hurricane is nothing to worry about. :nice:

Actually i just was at the shore.

This reminds of when everyone kept getting mad at me and I was fighting with them after the Japan thing about something stupid I can't even remember. :wacky:

Yeah, the news are clearly behind this. :rolleyes3:

er, yeah they're a big part of it.

Actually i just was at the shore.

pics or it didn't happen

btw, the hurricane is around Virginia so going to the shore now isn't a big deal :nice:

Of course! The news doesn't care about our personal safety, they merely want to scare us shitless! :o

I wonder if all your caps posts sound as hysterical as Jack Bauer.

Oh that hurt. You got me right here

Thank you! Right now some news reporter is talking about how this is affecting people with high blood pressure. You want to tell me what those two things have to with each other? And I just realized that you're being sarcastic but what you thought was sarcasm is spot on. The news wants to scare you. Do they want you to die? No. But they do want to get you all worked up. And I didn't mean I was at the shore today, I meant a couple of days ago.

I'm disappointed in you Alexa, only his heart? I would have expected you to PIERCE HIS SOULLLL. :c
