Perhaps if you lived here and understood the context you would understand better.

You've assumed a lot there.

Jack stop posting, you're just digging a deeper hole for yourself by continually doing so.

IT WAS NOT AS BAD AS THE NEWS MADE IT OUT TO BE.

I will keep posting until people understand what I meant by the things I've said. I don't want anyone to take me the wrong way, which they have good right to. Am I digging a deeper hole for myself? Hell yeah I am. What's gonna happen? There's a bunch of people that are upset with me right now so I'll dig as deep as I have to to get them to understand where I'm coming from. Was I on the Jersey shore during the storm? No. Did I feel the full effects of the storm? No. But I did feel the storm and outside my house right now there are trees fallen everywhere. I'm not in California laughing at all of you suffer. Maybe you guys will understand more if I say this: Where I am, it was not as bad as it was made out to be. Mayor Nutter had safe houses at high schools near me and there was absolutely no reason to as there were no life-threatening situations here in north east Philly. For those of you in New York and Jersey And Carolina etc., you did get hit pretty hard and I understand that. All I'm saying is that the hype near me was way over the top. I've apologized and I've explained myself as best I can so if you're still upset with me than there is no more I can do to rectify that.

Yep, I hope the Whistle Icon didn't mean "Oh I'm right" cause take this in:

Over 4 million and growing without power

18 deaths over 7 states and growing

airports and subways closed

1 Billion US Goverment estimated damage

Widespread Flooding

for the Cat of this storm it was about as bad as it could of been.

I've said what I wanted to say and if that's not good enough for you then there's nothing I can do about that.

Please don't bring Coldplay into this, you were so wrong with what you tried to say, Charley wasn't supposed to hit where it hit until 2 hours before it came a shore making a dramatic turn to the west, that is why the media keeps people updated and informed, if you take it as scare tactics that's your opinion, and I am glad in the "Jersey Shore" area you came out fine.

Irrelevant

Wasn't good enough I guess. Well, I'm done trying to apologize, because that doesn't work. I'm done trying to explain myself because that doesn't work. I even pulled the Parachutes card and that didn't even work. So I guess there's nothing more I can do. I'm not angry or mad with any of you guys, if you are at me then I suppose you have every right to be. Anybody needs me, I'll be on the Mylo Xyloto forum. :)

You know what guys, this is a forum and we're talking to people through words and tiny little emoticons so let's not make judgements of character. Why are we all here? Because we enjoy it. We have fun with it. Let's not ruin it.

Man, looking back, I regret letting this thing get so out of control. Just a disagreement over a hurricane and now we're in this full out feud. It seems that I've forgotten why we are here and that is to have fun and talk about Coldplay, and talk about news, and a whole bunch of other crap. It's supposed to be fun and, as this is my first dispute in a forum, I realize that it really gets a lot less fun. I also realize that this particular thread isn't exactly about fun as well. However, we shouldn't be arguing over our are stupid opinions (or more so my stupid opinions) when there's people out there that are down a house. Call me a hypocrite, but there are some serious situations out there from what you guys have told me. While I don't completely disagree with some of my original points way way back before you guys were mad at me, I now understand that it was inappropriate to share them with people who are going through some pretty severe stuff right now.

That's alright, I forgive you. I mean I understand what you are getting at in that the news or politics can use fear tactics, and I know that it's been used in the past.

Like I said for NY and most of the north east a storm like this is extremely uncommon. I mean the last time the city had a hurricane hit was in the 1800's, so it's natural for people to react. And like I said I think it's better to be overprepared for a storm than not. Afterall we wouldn't want to have another Katrina happen.

I somehow missed all the coverage on this, but I am keeping everyone in my prayers.

Okay, can we fucking stop arguing about this, and can we speak about the actual hurricane/tropical storm??

The medias made it look exactly like it was here, it was the biggest mess I have ever been into.

The rain started at 10AM here, it got more and more intense. And even at 6PM, when I drove two minutes to get to my grandma's for dinner, half the streets were flooded and the sewers were overflowing.

After dinner, we saw firetrucks passing all the time, roads getting closed, the wind was getting stronger, and the power was going on and off.

At around 8.30PM, I drove back home, and couldn't find a way to go there. The normal streets were all blocked, and as i was driving around to find a way, the power went off. Town pitch black. The firemen made me pass somewhere, but told me not to go on the bridge anymore, that it might go with the river. Trees were down, landlines too and one of the landlines poles was broken in half.

My mom and my brother, in another car, arrived a little later, but we were all safe. We were careful not to put the cars anywhere near trees. All night, firetrucks were passing, they closed all the streets around where I live, and it was just a big black mess.

My town was on tv while we were blacked out.

Watch at around 1.20. The footage after is the town next to mine, and the road in between.

So while some people were saying that the medias made it look worse than it seems, I was struggling to get home in the dark, and have the rest of my family safe. Funny uh.

"The cemetery where my grandparents are buried in got washed out. There are coffins and actual bodies in my friend’s and family’s front lawns."

^There used to be a bridge for the railroad here.

^See the sand on the right of the river? Well this used to be where the river flowed. It eroded the land on the left, and the man who owns this property is the one I talked about earlier, the one who sells wood for a living. He lost over 5000 dollars worth of wood + a chunk of his property.

There's 3 billions of CAD worth of damage for my town only. And we're a town of 1500 inhabitants.
