Let's get one thing clear - I actually really like Paradise, so this isn't meant to be taken seriously. I just thought this would be fun. :P

Edit: Thanks to Pai for the marvelous vocals!

Parachutes (2.0)

When the decade was young

We discovered a beautiful song

A walk alone down a beach

A single from a masterpiece

It was para, para, parachutes

Para, para, parachutes

Para, para, parachutes

Wonderful, a great debut

Then for reasons we don’t understand

We fell in love with the band

From “A Rush of Blood to the Head”

To “Viva or Death and All of His Friends”

But something happened, something changed them

They sold out for the radio

Now their star is fading

You can pander to the public if you choose

But the rest of us remember the real you

We’ll dream of parachutes

Para, para, parachutes

Para, para, parachutes

Oooh, oooh

We’ll dream of parachutes

Para, para, parachutes

Para, para, parachutes

Oooh, oooh

Oh Coldplay, you are not the band we knew

But singing ouuut, “the stars will always shine for you..."

We'll dream of parachutes

Para, para, parachutes

Para, para, parachutes

Oooh, oooh

Remember parachutes

Para, para, parachutes

Para, para, parachutes

Oooh, oooh

We’ll dream of parachutes

Para, para, parachutes

Para, para, parachutes

Oooh, oooh

EDIT:

Here's the youtube video!

how did they sell out tp radio??? yellow became huge.. on the radio? if it wasnt for the radio playing yellow would coldplay be this big? probably not

Well theoretically, they "sold out" because they traded real instruments for synthesizers, overdubs and overproduction to appeal to an even more mainstream audience. In other words, they compromised everything that made them "Coldplay" (their stripped down, piano-driven "raw" sound) in favor of more polished and arguably less emotional/"real" releases.

Like I said though, this is pretty much a joke. I actually really like Paradise.
