Nope, you definitely read it right! He keeps downloading all of my favourite movies or movies that I have mentioned that I want to see, and then says "Hey, Emily, I downloaded ____, if you want to watch it in my room sometime. I have class at ___ so you can come and watch when I'm not there".

I don't know if someone can be charged for being generally creepy, but I think someone should be informed, I don't know how universities work over there but I imagine there's like a guidance tutor or someone who manages the dorms that you can speak to. The police will do nothing.

Oh God, I have had that as well. This guy was stalking me and part of it was to download stuff I mentioned but even if there was a song on the radio and I just said "oh, that's a nice song" he would go and download the freakin' newest album of them and send it to me while writing something along the line of "hiiiii I got this for you because I know you love them and it was no trouble at all!!!! let me know if you want to see them live once with me or something". Of course I replied that I don't give a fuck about that band.

 

Please tell him that you find it creepy that he downloads movies that you mentioned. You never asked him to do so, which is what makes it creepy. If he plays the 'but I am such a good friend to you' card again, then tell him he's not. For one, a good friend would know when you would appreciate such a gesture and in this case you cleary don't. You also never wanted him to be a friend of you. Considering his feelings for you, it would be very wise for both of you not to be friends at all. Yep, tell him that too. If he asks why, then tell him he should use his common sense or - when lacking that - ask a friend why. You don't need to explain him anything. You don't own him anything.

 

Have you told him already anything in the line of that you don't want to be friends? or want any of his 'favours' ?
