January 6, 201214 yr Here is my list; I know it's late so I don't mind if it doesn't get counted. A couple notes: Did anyone else think that pitchfork's list this year was exceedingly indie and kind of crappy? How did St Vincent not make the top 10? Anyways I was just saying since in the past they actually had several bands who went big that year in their top 10 (aka Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, etc). Also, I still think the new Bon Iver is fairly overrated, but still a great album. For me though, it was somewhat inferior to his debut; Perth might be the best song he's done to date though. Finally, choosing number 1 album this year was very difficult and it was a close call between M83 and Fleet Foxes: one happens to be the peak of his career with many strong single tracks, whereas the other was a very consistent album from start to finish and better than the first IMO.Ā Favorite Albums of 2011 1.
