...and he slaughtered it!!! :(

He butchered it. It was a proper "cows at an abbatoir" experience for that song. That song's guts were pulled out and they were thrown at the camera in the name of entertainment.

Man oh man. You could see midway through that song Gary Barlow was trying to remember Chris Martin's phone number so he could phone him up after the show and pray for forgiveness.

And that Dutch guy did sing Trouble well.

:( It was truly bad.. The x factor is normally bad, but this was unusually cruel.. !

Argh! How can anyone with any kind of musical interest think that's good? Shame on you, Gary Barlow. :disappointed:

That idiot ruined Ed Sheeran's The A-Team last week which really pissed me off. :veryangry2:

But Coldplay? The Scientist? That just crossed the line man. I thought Gary knew better.

Poor song. :(

He murdered the song it was horrible!!  my ears were bleeding from listening to it!! Shame on Gary Barlow

Terrible. He absolutely slaughtered it. I think he might actually go after that.

Fucking hell that was horrific

X Factor: Frankie Cocozza’s Coldplay performance ‘very average’ according to Louis

Frankie Cocozza tackled Coldplay’s The Scientist on tonight’s show after a late change of song – and the judges bickered among themselves, everyone apart from mentor Gary Barlow less than impressed with the choice.

Frankie has been trying to show his serious side on the show in the past couple of weeks, so it made sense to opt for a song by arena rock group Coldplay.

The 18-year-old from Brighton had his choice of song changed by Gary Barlow – and wasn’t able to remember the words to his new number during rehearsals. So would he pull it off?

He looked confident when he took to the stage, looking like a rock star with ruffled hair and black shirt, Gary visibly willing him on from the judges’ area.

Louis explained: “Frankie, when we saw you saw you at Bootcamp we thought you were the one to beat. But that wasn’t very, very average. It seems like you’ve lost your swagger.”

Kelly Rowland interjected: “Do you know what that means? Don’t you ever say swagger again!”

Tulisa explained: “I have to be honest, I wasn’t too sure about the song choice this week. It’s a little bit repetitive – I think you’re capable of a lot more.”

Kelly added: “I will say that I did expect more from you this week. I do love the song. I love everything about you, but vocally you’ve got to come up to another level.”

Mentor Gary was impressed with his prodigy, saying: “Back in the real world You responded to the song choice just as I thought you would. I thought you did a great job.”

He then sniped at Louis, saying he should have picked Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You, which Louis had chosen for Sami. Ooh!

Playing the joker during his opening audition where he flashed his bum to the judges, Frankie had previously showed a more serious side at Judges’ Houses where he broke down in tears while he awaited mentor Gary Barlow’s decision.

Upon hearing the good news, he said: ‘I'm probably the happiest person in the world right now, I never imagined that I'd be going to the live shows. “

Would Gary Barlow like someone to butcher one of his songs - i think not, Diana Vickers was bad enough -Coldplay should ban all requests to use their songs!!!!

So I don't think I should watch that version of The Scientist

In the Dutch talent show ''The Voice Of Holland''(similar to x-factor) a guy sang trouble yesterday. I was like: COLDPLAY!!!!!. He sang it quite good actually, and he got through the first round.

Yeah this was pretty good. I believe Van Velzen is a fan of Coldplay too.

I'm...I'm sickened.

I can sing the scientist better than him...

:wtf:?

Outch... that was... well, poor song :(

But I liked the performance on the Deutch show :)

and he was in the bottom 2 last night

It's shame that judges chose to keep him

Let's hope Gary Barlow won't give him Coldplay song this week
