I was just wondering if anyone knew how long it typically takes for Coldplay to release the B-sides to an album. To a lesser extent, I was wondering if it's safe to even assume we'd be getting a B-side for MX.

Usually the singles comes with B-sides, and as we have got already 2 singles and expect another 2 at least, we might get a b side in 3 or 4 months I think, and then well wait for another 5 months to have one more single, so... they are scarce. youll have to stick with your MX and consider yourself satisfied for a long time.

I'm fine with the wait ;D I just wanted to know there was more to come of this era, especially since it might be Coldplay's last. Thanks for the info!!

Yees theere is! and it certainly is not their last since they signed with universal for 3 albums :D

Do you have a link to an article that says that? 'Cause lately Chris Martin has been hinting that this album might be their last (possibly) - I did a bit of snooping and found that they had signed w/ Parlophone for 5 albums (and MX is the 5th), but if there's 3 more albums they signed up for then that's great news.

Well, in 2010 the spread new noticed that what i said before, just google coldplay universal. and this last album thingy has become a tradition, every time they finish an album they feel wasted and come with this speech, but that doesn't scare me anymore. :)

They might not bother with b-sides and physical CD single releases and just go for a EP if they think they have enough left over!!

In the Viva era, we have just 3 real b-sides. (acoustic, live or instumental isn't b-side), If they had done no PM EP, some of those songs were released as B-sides of Lost, LiJ, Str.Sw. They could better do an EP ;). Delivers EMI more money :rolleyes:

well when you think about it, Car Kids, Golden Arrow, Great Expectations, Rex, Tomorrow, among others, there is enough there

in the south bank show thing, when Chris Martin plays wedding bells i am not sure if those are gone because of the era but there are a couple of song names spray painted on the wall

There are also a number of these that were scrapped and made into new songs. Realistically the only hints we have at B-Sides are: Great Expectations, Tomorrow, Car Kids, Alien Radio?, Under 1 Roof, Golden Arrow (I think it became part of DLIBYH) and REX.

I have always been of the opinion that Tomorrow is an instrumental that leads into Car Kids... if in fact they are songs at all anymore. Time will tell.

Just kind of curious because I can't find any photos anywhere, I know Alien Radio is all over the gear. Does anyone have any photos of the painted guitars and basses?

The titles are def similar but I bet it was a separate thing since A Hopeful Transmission is just a repeat of the MX/UFO tune.

I think that the only song that might see the light of the day, among those whose titles we know, is Car Kids. And I say that cause its title is in the graffiti wall, so they've considered it for the album tracklist.

It would be a dream, but I dont think they'll do it.

Because most of the ideas were used in the album, like Chris said, they've given everything for MX. And if they do it again after only 2 years since their last EP, they'll be estabilishing a pattern or something (I dont think like that, but Chris might :P)

Alien Radio would make a great EP name, it could fit in the story too. That is if Alien Radio is the radio station that drive the youth to revolt, and the songs played on alien radio are the B-sides so that they don't have to be worked into the story as anything but music.

They talk about Arrows a few times in MX, so part of that song might haave gone to others.

I'm sure there'll be b-sides.
