edit: I just saw the date of the first post so I guess it's probably too late to recommend bands here.

^I'm sure there's always someone longing to discover a new band so this thread shouldn't be abandoned. Some of the bands I think everyone should give a go to are Florence +The Machine, Broken Bells, The Decemberists, Mutemath, The xx, The Dirty Projectors, Beach House, Warpaint, Grizzly Bear, Band of Skulls, The Black Keys, The Swell Season, &c.
