Wow man, that song is really good!! So simple and so touching, reminds me a bit of the old Coldplay which is really good! :D Congratulations!

Cheers for the comments! The song is about being stuck in a place that you hate, feeling like there's nothing left there for you but old memories. Then it's about the feeling of moving to a new place full of life and energy, feeling alive again.

Thank you! I've just put a pretty large order for some really nice recording equipment so I'll redo it hopefully by the end of the week if it arrives! I've got an audio interface, condenser mic & a bunch of decent cables on the way.

Crappy gear. A singstar mic plugged directly into my Mac recorded in garageband. New version has just been released with my new good gear that arrived yesterday!

Recorded in Garageband through a Petronus Firebox audio interface. Vocals are recorded with a Shure SM58 mic & the guitar is plugged directly into the firebox bypassing the built in EQ. The bass is an instrument in garageband and the pad type sound is just my acoustic guitar with an absolute ton of reverb and a few other effects on.

It sounds nice. You sound like Ben Folds.

Lotus land is very good! How did you get those amazing guitar sounds towards the beginning?

The ambient sound? That's just my acoustic playing 3 different notes with ALLOT of reverb, I believe it's the "space" setting in Track Reverb, with a bit of delay. Really easy to do and very effective! If you add an amp simulator or play it with an electric with a bit of distortion it's pretty similar to the "Lovers In Japan" effect. This is all done in Garageband on OSX by the way :)
