A woman has been arrested in connection with a foul-mouthed racist rant that was caught on camera on a busy tram. The 34-year-old from New Addington in Croydon, south London, was held on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence after a video came to light on YouTube.

 

The two-minute clip showed a woman insulting passengers while holding a toddler on her lap in a full tram carriage on the Croydon to Wimbledon service in South London. It quickly spread via Twitter and YouTube, sparking outrage, as the woman in the video could be heard demanding foreign workers "go back to their own country".

 

It shows the expletive-filled tirade aimed at other passengers while the woman's son plays with a toy figure on her lap. She can be heard saying: "What has this country come to ... with loads of black people and a load of f------ Polish. Sort out your own countries, don't come and do mine, Britain is nothing now, Britain is f--- all, my Britain is f--- all now."

 

When a passenger points out there are children on board, she replies: "Yeah fine, I've got my little kid here."

 

Tension almost boils over when the incensed woman attempts to pronounce "Nicaragua" and a young black man has to be calmed down by others.

 

The passenger continued to try to stop the woman insulting commuters and said: "If we didn't come here you guys wouldn't have people to work. We have to come here and do the work for you."

 

The clip, entitled "My Tram Experience", ends when another white passenger tells the woman she is waking up her baby.

 

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “A 34-year-old woman from New Addington was arrested on Monday, 28 November on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence. This relates to a video which appeared on YouTube and was brought to police attention earlier today.”

Emma West, 34, Charged With Racial Harassment After Abusive Tram Rant

 

A woman has been charged with racial harassment after a video emerged in which she is allegedly shouting abuse aboard a Croydon-Wimbledon tram in South London.

 

Emma West, 34, of New Addington, Croydon, was charged with a racially-aggravated public order offence, after an appeal by the British Transport Police to find the person at the centre of the incident aboard the tram.

 

A video published on YouTube showed a woman with a toddler on her knee apparently shouting abuse at ethnic minority passengers.

 

British Transport Police said they responded after the video was brought to their attention.

 

West, who was arrested on Monday, remained in custody overnight and will appear before magistrates at Croydon crown court on Tuesday.

The increase in immigrants moving to the UK seems to me to be the result of years of socialism. The free government services act as a honeypot for people willing to leave their own countries, but aren't willing to get an education or skill. Ironically, socialism is likely also the reason so many "working class" low-IQ dolts exist there, like the woman in the original video.

The UK borders were the most secured yesterday than they have been in a while as they were using private sector contractors to help man the posts during the strikes.

 

I wonder how long will it be until a private sector contractor gets contracted to do border security in some airports.

Well "private" isn't really private when 100% of their revenue comes from government (which in turn gets the money from taxes).

 

If you carry out the logic, you could call all government employees "private contractors".

 

Something is truly private when it's based on a voluntary trade (ie no taxpayer money involved).

That's very easy for a lot of people to say - but try to imagine being on the other end of it. Try to imagine being a black man on that train with his young daughter whilst some lady screams incredibly offensive and hateful nonsense at you.

 

There is a point where the law has to intervene to protect the well being of others. The United Kingdom isn't Nazy Germany here - to get arrested for harassment you really have to cross the line. She wasn't merely voicing an opinion here - she was devaluing innocent people.

 

I don't believe people should be free to get on a train stoned and attempt to start fights with everyone on the train and spew hateful nonsense. If she was standing in Hyde Park handing out leaflets and merely expressing opinion - I'd be fine with it. But this crosses a line.
