Brains - Constant Love Forever

one of my favourite albums EVER and the best album ever to come out of New Zealand. But it wasn't popular here or overseas :( :( :(

I think the Drake album is underrated. It's huge, sure, but a lot of elitist hip hop fans think it's awful.

Adele is definitely overrated.

So is Bon Iver, even tho I personally love the album.

 

Underrated, for Sure Drake and RH.

 

I feel like M83 seems overrated because of all the hype for Midnight City :thinking:

I really like Toro y Moi but sometimes some 80's-ish songs annoy me a bit.

Totally agree on M83 and James Blake being overrated. Especially James Blake. With all the hype it got from people, when I listened to it I was expecting a masterpiece. But really there's just a few songs I even enjoy on it, and later on I found out that my favorites were the ones that were actually covers.

 

I also found Father, Son, Holy Ghost by Girls to be highly overrated.

Looks like Bon Iver, Bon Iver is rightfully being recognized as the most overrated album of 2011.

Overrated:

♦ "Let England Shake"-PJ Harvey (This more or less has to do with my dislike of her music in general, but you know, it's whatever.)

♦ "Suck It and See"-Arctic Monkeys (It bored me. Unfortunate. :sad:)

♦ "Burst Apart"-The Antlers (I didn't care for it all that much.)

♦ "The King of Limbs"-Radiohead (It grew on me after a while, but it's still not great, which is kinda what I expected.)

♦ "Ceremonials"-Florence + the Machine (Don't get me wrong. I love Flo, and the album is good. It just didn't live up to the hype that it was getting.)

 

I'll come back for my underrated list later after I do some more thinking on it. It's 2:30 am here, and I probably should be in bed.

 

Also, as a James Blake advocate, it makes me sad that so many people think he's overrated. I'm highly biased, though, so don't mind me. (Eddie, I know. Leave me be. :tongue:)

BON IVER BON IVER, it made it into my list but barely .... with the quality of CD's we've had this year imo, that says enough ... overrated.

I honestly tried to like this album, but everything about it makes me cringe.
