jeremyy
July July was full of concerts pics, videos, reviews and streams. Also there were loads of news & gossips & tweets about the new album : MYLO XYLOTO. we didn't have any clue about the name of the new album. there were just 'hard to spelling' and some clues about Jonny's parts. We almost watched 6-7 streams together on coldplaying.com, and tried to guess what were they gonna play at the next gig, or what was the clue behind chris' piano & guitar and other stuffs. me and my friend (randommames) tried to put everything in this review. I'm posting the part of mine. #roadie blogs : Blog #136 1 July 2011 10:20 am Roadie #42 on Glastonbury and the video shoot Blog #137 7 July 2011 1:15 pm #42 and the continuing European festival adventure #concerts : 2nd July - Rock Werchter Festival, Belgium -details 3rd July - Main Square Festival, France -details 6th July -Optimus Alive festival, Portugal -details 7th July - BBK Live festival, Bilbao, Spain -details 9 July 2011- T in the Park, Kinross, Scotland -details 10 July 2011- Oxegen, Ireland - details #interviews: Chris Martin speaks to Ryan Seacrest (KIIS FM, Los Angeles) about LP5 -download During the interview, Chris said: "The [fifth] album is not finished - it's been hard to finish, like getting to the final of American Idol. We have thought about the album name, and it is 'hard to spell' and we will reveal it in about six weeks. I think it [the album itself] will be finished in two weeks time. We've tried as hard as we possibly can on this [record]. It's got a lot of guitar on it - Jonny is finally as good as we knew he could be, and now he's become our hero." #announcements >>Music Midtown festival, Atlanta (24th September) >>Oracle confirmed: July 8, 2011 - submitted by Nick, United States of America Q. I was looking up the song Moving to Mars the other day, when I stumbled across a documentary called Moving to Mars, directed by none other than Mat Whitecross! I was was wondering if the song and film were related in any way. The general lyrics of the song seem to fit the film, what with it being about two families being forced out of Burma and into an entirely new world in the UK. Since Mat directed a couple of videos for Coldplay's songs, is this a kind of way to pay him back, by writing a song for/about his film? The Oracle replies: A couple of people have spotted this but as you were the first to ask... Yes, the song's title was inspired by Mat's film of the same name. >>Article: How you and Coldplay influence the Stock Market >>tweets from guy & phil about Coldplay's fifth album will be 'ready in two weeks' but what does this mean for the fans? *Only a few more weeks left before we have to finish the album. randomnames
(cont. from above) July 15 You really have to appreciate their tenacity and hard-working spirit eh? Early in the morning on July 15th, Chris Martin sent out a tweet implying that he (and the band?) was still up listening and reviewing something, and it doesn’t take much guessing to conclude he was probably referring to their yet unnamed new album. As member Fix42YellowClocks puts it, “They should be called "The Fantastic Four", except the real deal in real life!” July 18 As the month continued on, speculation on whether their big gig at the iTunes festival in London would include any setlist changes. When asked by a fan, the Oracle would only reveal that changes were to be expected, but what exactly would they be? July 19 Coldplay’s long awaited 5th album finally had a tentative release date! It was reported by The Sun (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/3702355/Solo-Noel-Gallagher-battles-Coldplay.html) and a few other sources that the album was set to be released on October 24, 2011. Looking ahead, did that ever seem like a long wait! July 22 iTunes Festival, London, UK When the time finally came for Coldplay to unleash their live spectacle across the world as part of the 2011 iTunes Festival, would fans finally get to see a setlist change? Streaming live across 23 countries, the band decided, as the one major change, to perform for the very first time (and currently only time) Moving to Mars, a fan favourite released on the ETIAW EP back in June. (As I write this, I am reminded of the beauty of the opening to this track :D No wait, that should say the WHOLE track.) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzBtFa3WB0o]Coldplay Moving To Mars (Live At iTunes Festival) - YouTube[/ame] Cool moment during Every Teardrop: "Y U NO SING ALONG, AUDIENCE?!" It was such a memorable gig, folks had the Viva chant going in their heads, even after the show: Also, more photos courtesy Laura84: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150327469520941.388214.522830940&l=f1134fdd3a&type=1 July 24 Coldplayers jumped all over the news that a new name, Mylo Xyloto, had been registered in the PRS database earlier on in July. What was this mysterious name? A new song? The album’s title?? "I'm a member of PRS and (as a member) you can search their online database of registered songs. I typed in Chris Martin and looked at all the newly registered work under 'Christopher Anthony John Martin' and a song called 'Mylo Xyloto' was registered on 6th July 2011!!! The writers registered for the song are all of Coldplay and Brian Eno. Wither they actually call the album Mylo Xyloto or not or that might be the lead single (maybe released on October 10th because the first letters of each word being MX). 'Up With The Birds' has also been registered and Leonard Cohen is listen as one of the co-writers. Apparently the song contains 'samples' but it doesn't state where the samples are from. Might be a Leonard Cohen song. I think this could be the next single as well, it's the only song they've registered the length of (apart from ETIAW) and it's 3.30 - perfect radio time. " July 26 The September 2011 issue of Q Magazine featured an article on the boys from Coldplay, titled 'Laughing Boys'. It gave us more little tidbits of information on the new album, including the confirmation of a number of tracks which were to appear on the album (albeit, subject to last minute changes). Tickets sold out in a blink of an eye. :o Rumours, rumours, read all about it! Was Coldplay scheduled to perform in France in December, and possibly more dates elsewhere?
