Muse have revealed the name of their new album today (May 22) through their Twitter page.

 

This morning the band announced that their fifth record will be titled 'The Resistance' via their page on the social networking site, Twitter/musewire.

 

The band have been working on the follow-up to 2006's 'Black Holes and Revelations' for the past year in Milan and Lake Como in Italy. The album is being produced by the band and mixed by Mark 'Spike' Stent (Oasis, Depeche Mode).

 

Frontman Matt Bellamy had previously revealed that an orchestra had been recruited to play on the album, which he decribed as "symphonic".

 

'The Resistance' is expected to be released in September.

I've heard they would give a concert in Paris on 17th of November, and two other concerts in France. I'm waiting for the confirmation at the beginning of June.

Got excited when I saw the tweet. Hopefully this will signify further information steadily creeping out soon, like a definitive release date, tours, etc. :)

that could be the reason why and why not also. why play a festival that you've played the main stage twice in last 6years? why not headline that festival that you have played early afternoon once and 3rd last the other time?

 

i'll put my money on V festival.

Either way, I will still get to see them. Bands tend to return to the same festivals if they are treated well.. Muse always go down well at BDO..

i like the album title: The Resistance.. pretty damn cool. Hope they play a new song or two when they open for U2 that will make my day that's for sure.!
