that would be so amazing !

They better not change their mind about being there, I have a Coldplay show in Montreal for the opening night of the olympics !

At this point it looks like your concert is safe as it seems they'll be there in video and not in flesh.

Bump.

Can't find Part 2 on ETonline, but here it is from another website (Spin). Slightly better quality than the Youtube one.

And this one has a woman presenting...

^ Even Chris knows people take his jokes way too seriously, he felt he had to explain that he was just joking about U2 :P

well. it was a bit like yesterday, not a lot of stuff.... 2-3 minutes max (and the interviwer is so annoying, but maybe that is just me)

they talked briefly about if they bring the kids on the road (while showing a pap pic of Gwyneth at the beach with Apple and Moses...), they said that they will not perform for the olympics but said somethinf after that I didn't understand.

they joked that Bono detuned Jonny's guitar

I think Jonny said about 2 words in the whole interview

that was about it :dozey:

There is a article on the Spin website about the Olympic thing. Here:

Coldplay Are Probably Going to Be at the Olympics

Chris Martin and the gang aren't necessarily known for their sense of humor (unless you count unintentionally reviving the Dancing Thom Yorke meme on national television or inviting Frank Ocean on tour** instead of suing him like everybody else), but they certainly seem to be Coldplaying with us now. In an interview with ET Canada, Martin "shot down" rumors that Coldplay would be playing the opening ceremonies at this year's summer Olympics (via Spinner).

"Us doing the hurdles? That's just not true," Martin said, in a way that might as well have been accompanied by a huge, vaudevillian wink. The opening ceremony concert is currently slated to feature performances by representatives from each UK country: Duran Duran (England), Snow Patrol (Northern Ireland), Stereophonics (Wales), and Paolo Nutini (Scotland). It should be noted that rumors of Coldplay being considered for the concert sprung up at the beginning of April, while the announcement of Duran Duran's headline spot came on Tuesday, a month later. The addition of Coldplay would double up on England-native acts, but considering the games will be in London, the country probably deserves a freebee. Plus, it's Coldplay!

The one other fact we know for sure about the Olympics' musical accompaniment: the closing ceremony will include a massive "Best of British" show headlined by the reunited Blur and featuring New Order and the Specials. Watch the interview below and if you're particularly good at lie detection, let us know.

Sounds like he just doesn't want to confirm it nor deny it. Maybe a taped performance for the opening ceremony or appear at the closing ceremony???

I guess that's the only possibility. I don't think they can make it back in time for the closing ceremony.
