Is it just me or Amnesiac has less quality than Kid A? I'm talking about the recording; because my Amnesiac has/have less quality than Kid A

Both Originals. I don't like to burn Cd's so I just buy the originals!

considering both albums were taken from the same sessions, i can't think of any reason why there'd be a difference in quality. i certainly haven't noticed anything.

 

the only difference in quality is that Kid A's music is infinitely better than Amnesiac. :P

I hate to say it, but there are many times when I agree with that ... and it's not like Amnesiac is terrible ... it's just that ... well, I'd rather listen to either of the albums which bookend it. That's all.

yeah, i tend to hold radiohead records to a different standard than other records, based on what they've accomplished in the past. i know it's not really fair to do it that way, but to date, amnesiac is the only time they've ever disappointed me.

I agree with you about the higher standard, but in a way that just make it more fun. Think about the feeling you had right before you heard the first tracks from HTTT ... that kind of nervous anticipation because not only did you not know what they were going to be like, but you were kind of scared that it was going to be a let down ...

 

... and there just aren't any other bands which can do that to you. When Coldplay released there next album I'll get it immediately, but I'm going to expect it to be average. I expect almost all bands to be average because that's what history tells me to expect. History tells me that most bands can not consistenly make above average albums.

 

But Radiohead has been different thus far ... and it's been great. Maybe Coldplay can get there, one day ... but their music is also going to have to become a little more daring, less formulaic, to replicate the feeling.

Kid A is my favourite Radiohead album as far as what an album should be if that makes any sense :rolleyes:

I don't have Kid A :cry: I have Amnesiac though, and that has Knives Out on it, which is still a great song :D

I like Kid A; thought it had been a lot better If they had putted "Life in a glass house" on Kid A; then that cd would be perfect! :D

I always gravitate more towards amnesiac for some reason..i do love kid a i think i just wore it out a while ago..i just really like you and whos army,i might be wrong, knives out and living in a glasshouse and kid a annoys me because it only has 10 songs. i like kid a alot but i swear i can never sit and listen through treefingers. i cant ever listen through fitter happier either.

if you think Treefingers is bad you should try listening to one of Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works albums. :lol:
