May 14, 201313 yr Does anyone have a "shrine" in their room to their passions, whether it's music, gigs, a certain musician or a fandom? These are the ones in my house; the first is my sister's one to Coldplay, the second one has my gig tickets (thought I need to the rest). I read somewhere that Paul Weller used to have one to the Beatles. Feel free to share pictures or whatever.
May 14, 201313 yr I've got gig tickets in a drawer (only the very best ones like my Radiohead one, CocoRosie one, first gig with my gf, etc) but that's about it. Got a canvas of Ian Curtis up but I hardly worship him, just kind of suits the room. My bookcase is more of a shrine; to good literature. But it's not a shrine. It's a bookcase.
May 14, 201313 yr I just have my stacks of cd's and my Ziggy Stardust vinyl sitting on top, a few album covers stuck on my wall and a Hail to the Thief poster.
May 14, 201313 yr Author Don't really get the whole shrine thing. Bit weird. Shrine is too strong a word, hence why it is in quotation marks in the original post. I don't worship pop idols or follow lost prophets, it's just a thread for what you collect in your room, really.
May 14, 201313 yr No sweat, i see what you mean. Just be aware there are a LOAD of fangirls (and a few boys) on this site so this thread could be a real eye opener. The whole thing creeps me out.
May 14, 201313 yr I don't hang a lot on my walls...it's mainly artwork of some kind. and I don't have much fan merchandise or "souvenirs" from gigs or anything...and all the fandomish stuff I own I've made for myself...
May 14, 201313 yr I have a wall dedicated to Coldplay and about 6ft5 wide by 5ft tall (not the whole wall) is entirely covered I also have a side of one of my wardrobes covered in cinema tickets, plane tickets, boat tickets, theatre tickets etc. Then another wall is covered from top to bottom in LPs on a white background, so I suppose that's a shrine to old music :P
May 14, 201313 yr Author Then another wall is covered from top to bottom in LPs on a white background, so I suppose that's a shrine to old music :P I did that with CDs my first year of uni, I've always wanted to do it with LPs. I couldn't afford it though, so I did it with pages from Q Magazine.
May 14, 201313 yr I did that with CDs my first year of uni, I've always wanted to do it with LPs. I couldn't afford it though, so I did it with pages from Q Magazine. I went to a carboot sale and purchased about 200 LPs for a fiver, I kept the good ones and gave the ones I didn't like away :P
May 14, 201313 yr I have a few posters, gig tickets, other random items scattered about between home and work, nothing really all in one particular area so to speak. There are a bunch of vinyls on a shelf next to the piano, and then there is one little :bomb: memorabilia thing in a case all by itself. So I suppose overall I have a widely-scattered shrine of sorts.
May 14, 201313 yr and then there is one little :bomb: memorabilia thing in a case all by itself. :wacky:
May 14, 201313 yr I have a Coldplay shelf in my bedroom, with all my Coldplay stuff on it or on the wall near it :wacky:
May 14, 201313 yr My bedroom's too small, so I don't really have a place to make a "shrine" of my own. All I have are posters of my favorite bands, but that's about it. :P
May 15, 201313 yr i threw all of my coldplay stuff away lmao beat that society i even laughed when i bunched it altogether in the trash bag
May 15, 201313 yr i sold most of my coldplay stuff. still have Parachutes on vinyl and that LRLRL cd which someone here sent me my room is filled with posters, concert tickets etc and photos of musicians that mean a lot to me. i also have this
