How do you eat?

Answer this in any way you wish, but it's intended to cover these aspects?

How does your body react to food, in terms of whether you eat what is generally seen as normally (you eat when you are hungry, and you eat until you are full, at which point you stop eating), or whether you stray from what is seen as normal (either your body doesn't tell you when you are hungry and you go a long time without eating, then do so because you feel you should/get hungry because it's been so long, or your body doesn't tell you when you are full so you consume large amounts of food without really noticing or feeling sated/are constantly hungry).

Another angle at which to answer the question is whether you eat alone or with other people.

Another is whether you tend to eat sat a table (alone or as a social thing), or sat at the tv or computer or anything else that isn't a table (alone or as a social thing).

Another is the speed at which you tend to eat.

Go go go

When I get hungry, most of the time I eat. I prefer eating alone, I hate people seeing me eat. I usually eat, not until I'm bloated or full, and then I always get a guilty feeling after eating. I eat quite slowly.

EDIT: I'm vegetarian and have been for 8 or 9 years too.

I love how I come across this thread as I'm eating dinner. LOL

As a person who is still on a weight-loss journey, I work really hard at regulating what I eat and how much of those things I take in. Before this, I used to be one of those people who would eat whatever whenever, and I especially had a problem with eating whenever I got stressed or bored. I'm not like that now, although I can get disillusioned with food every once in a while and not feel like eating, even though I know I need to eat. This mostly happens when I get stuck eating the same things for a while.

On the topic of the speed at which I eat, I tend to eat quite slowly now. It's a great way to help regulate my intake of food. By eating slower, I feel more full with less food. This was something else I had a problem with in the past before I decided I wanted to lose the weight.

As far as eating alone or with people, I can do both, but I imagine it's more of a solitary thing for me. On that token, I generally don't sit at a table, either. (Obviously not, as I'm eating dinner as I type this out.)

I eat a small snack like every hour, alone normally or with one or two other people (I go to their room to eat lol or if we are both in the kitchen by coincidence we will eat together.) We don't really sit together and eat in our family, unless it's Christmas or Thanksgiving or something. We just make something for ourselves and recluse back into our rooms or leave the house.

So for that reason it's hard for me to finish big plates at restaurants etc. because I'm not used to having little fasts through out the day and then eating a lot all at once. (There are some exceptions though, I could eat 3 meals' worth of food I really like :wacky:) I think my way is a little better for me, better for your metabolism.

I normally don't eat very much. I only eat lunch if I'm hungry or my parents want me to. When I'm hungry I don't normally realise it until food is brought up in a conversation, or I smell or see food. Most of the time I only eat until I'm satisfied (unless it's something I absolutely love).

My family usually eat breakfast and lunch separate from each other, but have the evening meal together. And I always eat meals at the table unless we're watching a family movie or a movie with friends during meal time.

But I honestly love having meals with my family. That's where all the best conversations happen. Haha!

I eat 3 times a day,as a rule: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Sometimes I'm hungry before the time of the meal, sometimes not hungry at all, but I still eat at exact same time. I used to have more meals throughout the day, eat fast, when I was bored, wherever I pleased. I the opposite now and am quite satisfied with it. I avoid bread, anything to do with dough, actually, and candies.

The only fixed times that I eat are breakfast in the morning, even when I get up after midday, and dinner in the evening with the family. During the day I'll eat a sandwich or something if I get hungry, which usually happens around early afternoon, or right before I go to bed if I'm up late (which happens most nights). The only time I'll eat something when not hungry is if I'm really bored and go downstairs just for something to do.

Dinner with the family IS the best!

When I'm at my parents', I eat at set hours - 12 pm for lunch and 6 pm for dinner. I might have a little snack in-between meals or after dinner, and usually I eat a croissant later before going to bed. Not the healthiest of diets, oops.

When I'm in my flat, I eat whenever I feel hungry but I try to eat regularly and have moderate-sized meals. I don't always feel completely full unless I eat a really huge amount of food, which tends to happen when I'm eating out.

I'm fine with eating alone and I don't mind going to restaurants alone but I prefer it if friends/family are with me so we can chat about stuff.
