Let's call this another gay thread, for convenience's sake

I have a problem or at least have been pushed into thinking I have one when I accidentally commented on a guy's looks the other day in front of my friends saying the guy in question was handsome, upon which I received quizzical looks all around. Now, I have no doubts about my sexuality (which is heterosexual) but I have this peculiar superpower to notice whether a guy is good-looking or not. I know guys do not usually explain themselves on this matter, but surely it crosses their minds sometimes?

I know what you mean. I think most guys know if their friends are good looking or not. Same goes for people you don't know. It's not weird. Sometimes you just look at a guy and say, man he must pick up a lot of girls because he's handsome or whatever. I have a girlfriend and am also heterosexual. But does saying a guy looks good make us gay? Not even. We're just saying he's good looking or whatever you want to call it. I totally understand what you're saying.

It is totally UNACCEPTABLE to compliment someone OF THE SAME SEX on their looks

What I'm getting at is your friends are shallow minded and you should just ignore them. They're probably just trying to find something immature to giggle at.

I know a good looking guy when I see one. Some men are just beautiful.

Are your feelings sexual, though?

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not but do you realize that virtually everyone on the planet is capable of this

I feel so sorry for people who try so hard to be macho that they can't even tolerate a goddamn nice comment about someone else of the same sex

You should see all the guys in my high school "NO HOMO NO HOMO NO HOMO OH GOD PLEASE NOOO NO HOMO"

They're probably just trying to find something immature to giggle at.

Like those awfully crass "jokes" on Urban Dictionary.

Straight girls tell each other that they're beautiful or good looking all the time and it's perfectly acceptable and normal.

But if guys did that then they would be considered gay and it's just not acceptable. Unless they say like Diana said "NO HOMO NO HOMO NO HOMO OH GOD PLEASE NOOO NO HOMO" afterwards, which makes me puke.

I don't understand this society sometimes...

You know how I love to be Politically Correct :3

i thought a girl was cute once but yeah no homo but everyone thought i was homo so thats my story but i live on

Really? I tell girls all the time that they're beautiful, they have nice eyes, whatever, even sometimes that they have a nice body lmao if I think so and nobody takes a second thought at it.

I wish it could be the same for men. (I mean, they are capable of doing it of course but they are under pressure to not do it so that really sucks!)

just say so what if i am and throw a scarf over your shoulder and walk off :phu:

like is it really such a big deal if somebody thinks you're gay i find it funny when boys spend several minutes trying to explain that they're not gay because they cried at some film.

I think some of the neanderthals of my gender must hear '...and I'm gonna blow you so hard' after any form of compliment.

It was a big deal when I was a kid. Because I'd have got ****ted every day, rather than every other day, if they thought I was gay.

I'm glad I'm not a boy

What do you see as the negative aspects of the male gender and what it entails?

I'm not asking you to justify yourself by the way, this is also open to others. I wanna see what people think are the downsides to being male. Because there are downsides to everything. Thats not to say it makes anything else aside from male any better.

Masculinity is hard. Society wants males to be aggressive all the time and to idolize violence and force. If you're not violent or at least aggressive there is viewed as something wrong and womanly about you, or often, gay. (that was awkwardly worded but oh well)

I've had this problem my whole life, being viewed as weak and feminine because I don't value aggression.

I thought of a lot but basically all of them came under a blanket term of "women are allowed to adopt masculine and feminine traits with pride but men can be scrutinized for doing the same"

I can wear make-up and a pink dress if I chose to, then a suit with dress shoes the next day if I chose to

Women who are dominant in relationships are seen as cool but men who are submissive aren't

Like we just said, there's more of a pressure, really more of a sick paranoia, to come off as heterosexual as possible

Uhh if parents get divorced the mother pretty much always gets the custody

In family sitcoms/commercials etc. fathers are portrayed as idiots who can't get the stove open and the wife laughs at him and does it for him

I can cry to get away with things sometimes uhh :anxious:

Men feel shame for small penis size but women feel a significantly lesser amount of worry for having small breasts... or a shallower vagina? Is that even a thing?? It's really not!

Nobody opens doors specifically for men etc. (well really nobody does chivalrous things in general anymore, I just open doors for anyone who's nearby, but I've seen it here and here so)

Just some that came from the top of my head

And these are all general statements, I'm not gonna edit every single sentence out to say "SOME men" "SOME women" you know what I mean

This is the 21st century, you can say someone is good looking without being gay.

If I think a girl is good looking or whatever then ill say it, doesn't mean I'm a lesbian.

With all the talk about the phrase "No homo" on the previous page, I thought this would be somewhat relevant here.
