busybeeburns
#AskBG British Gas Twitter Q&A Goes As Well As Would Be Expected In a move described as both "brave"and "a terrible PR idea", British Gas decided to host a Twitter Q&A - on the same day it unveiled a 9.2% price hike. Why? Presumably in an effort to generate the heat lost by people switching their boilers off as they tighten their purse strings across the country. Suffice to say it went as well as you would expect.

6 minutes until the biggest social media car crash in history starts #AskBG
— Chris Martin (@TheChrisMartin) October 17, 2013
The company's customer service director, Bert Pijls, aka the man with a job no one would want even if they were facing a winter freezing to death, sat in his presumably comfortably heated office (he was only wearing a shirt) and took what was coming to him.

#AskBG When my elderly relative dies from being unable to afford to heat their home. Petit Prince
Haha they sure deserve it! They once threatened to take me to court because one of my flatmates at uni hadn't paid their share of the bill.

Cobalt
UK is still cheaper than the European average. Pointing to another country and saying "THEY GOT IT WORSE" sure solves the underlying problem and is an interesting and thoughtful piece of commentary on the subject
Black Rose
But when people moan about the price of energy, if they use neighbours as a comparison they will see it's not so bad as the media are making it out, considering that some of the EU countries still have power nationalised And some of the price rises are not the energy companies fault, it's all the various 'green' deals the governement is making them pay for. It is bad because many people in this country can't afford it. Pointing out that people in other countries are paying more isn't gonna help.
