Sonic Highways, the latest Foo Fighters documentary will air on American TV station, HBO this Friday 17th October. The documentary detailing the making of their forthcoming album, also titled Sonic Highways follows the efforts of Dave Grohl and co as they record each song of the new album in a different city and studio across the US. A pal of frontman, Dave Grohl is our very own Chris Martin and he will be interviewed for the TV series. Infact, it's already being filmed.

Chris Martin appears for a split second at 1:35 during the latest Youtube teaser for the series.

Walk the Talk?

Do you remember the video for Walk by the Foo Fighters in 2011? It featured a 'Coldplay' bumper sticker followed by a shake of the head by Mr Dave Grohl who did state in an interview he likes the 'Coldplay guys' but he likes to make fun of them and the rocker compared it to being married to someone and wanting to make fun of them all the time <a href="

This gives me a perfect excuse to also post this cool picture of Dave Grohl with Jonny Buckland and Will Champion during the Viva era! (For Chris' one, check out the preview pic of the article on the frontpage)

I love Dave's friedship with coldplay so im gonna spam these pics for you guys, and lets remember that coldplay video about the grammys where Dave was filmed in coldplays dressing room making jokes with them!!! And back in 2000 when Muse, Coldplay and Foo Fighters used to tour together, you can read in books about the nights they spent together while being drunk/high on weed, touring and talking about music. And all the kind words that Dave always had for Chris, Will or Coldplay

Dave is awesome. He swears like a f***ing Sailor! Lol. He seems to be a really nice, humble guy (in the entire 2min clip haha)

He obviously knows his shit too ie "I could never say anything bad about Chris Martin". very. wise. man.

very..F***ing...wise... indeed

Haha I don't think it is the first time he has said that. I have never known what to think of Dave Grohl. I am not a huge fan of Foo Fighters just because I don't really care for grunge or post-grunge rock as a genre, but he seems like a truly cool guy. Of course I am just judging here, but despite seeming so nice I think he often reeks of pretension. Like in that video when he is talking about how he learned to play all the instruments by himself and single handedly start a band, I dunno, he is so talented bu seems to really like himself, not as much humility as Chris.

I also find it weird that he always says him and Coldplay have a friendly little "back and forth." When has Coldplay ever "joked" about the Foo Fighters? I do think Dave Grohl is just joking, and does like Chris genuinely, but in that German TV interview a few years back, someone asked why the George Bush and Coldplay stickers were on the same car, and he said "Well those things go together don't they?" and the whole band laughed. I wouldn't be surprised if he really hates Coldplay's music since it isn't really rock. Thoughts? Am I being too judgy of Dave? I mean he really does seem nice, but that stuff irks me.

You know, there's also a life OTHER than what we see on the tv, just sayin

Dave and Chris could be texting the most kinky shit to each other and we wouldn't know it, so what.

i think a lot of more "acclaimed" musicians are friends with chris/coldplay. but publicly, they are very nonchalant or making fun of them, as that's the norm with coldplay. think dave grohl might fall into that category although they seem to have a very long history. i remember reading somewhere how at the very beginning grohl came to will at the end of a gig and told him that he was a great drummer. chris said that had a lot to do with will gaining confidence as a drummer and will has always named grohl as a drummer he looks up to.

^^Both very valid points! I will just conclude that they are good buddies and mutually respect each-others music! I suppose since both bands blew up at the same time, they have had a lot of opportunities to bond.

If i were the drummer in nirvana sure as hell id be pretentious, and if you read some books about Muse and Foo Fighters (not the one about coldplay) you'd found out how those three bands were close to each other back in 2001 and used to have a back and forth realtionship, especially matt bellamy and chris martin that used to text each other and insult each other all the time, yet you dont read about this on the internet. From what we have we can see that Dave and Chris's friendshio goes well over the simply back and forth.

Whatever he likes coldplay's music actually doesnt matter, he's friend with chris since 2000 and has helped him at the beginning, that's what matter really

Dave seemed genuine when he spoke of Chris. I think it was evident in his voice. They can still be friends and respect each other but not have to feel the need to fangirl each other's music.

Or maybe Dave said 'I'd never say anything bad about CM' because he really is a f***ing wise. guy. and he knows his place...lol

when are we going to watch this documentary???

(sorrry I am too lazy to google it)
