Whew. I finally fixed my quadruple post. (that must be like a record or something :lol: )

Anyway, have you guys heard that apparently Julian's engagement is off? Not really that surprising, I guess, although I can't say that I really know what he's like or anything, but I had read interviews and stuff where he said he doesn't treat women that well, and that hardly seemed like the kinda stuff you'd say if you were looking to tie the knot any time soon. :/

-we've just returned from L.A. last week filming a video for "the end

has no end"

-directed by SOPHIE MULLER whose credits are far too long and

prestigious to list here...

-the video is the first "concept" video by the strokes, featuring

guest-star actresses EVA MENDES and MILA KUNIS.

(oddly enough, it also features me...as the main character in the story)

-it's being edited right now, and should be on video channels around

the world by the end of AUGUST.***

 

-a commercial single will be available in many countries, throughout

europe, but i don't have a confirmed list yet.

-the CD-single and 7" vinyl will be released SEPTEMBER 20th in the

U.K., and around that time everywhere else.

-the b-side will be a cover of The Clash's "Clampdown", performed by

the strokes last december at a live concert in london

 

speaking of live in london......

**** LIVE ALBUM COMING ****

-OCT. 12th of this year marks the date set for the strokes "LIVE IN

LONDON" from the alexandra palace in london to be released.

the concert, recorded by the BBC, will feature at least 12 tracks from

the Dec. 5th 2003 concert and will include tracks from both IS THIS IT,

and ROOM ON FIRE, including the aforementioned cover of The Clash's

song, "Clampdown".

-the band is working on a plan to make this a specially priced live

album, priced lower than the average CD......more specific news on that

in september.

-as many of you know from argentina, brazil, and chile.....the strokes

were TRYING to plan a tour of those countries in november of this year.

unfortunately, AGAIN, we were not able to confirm this tour and so we

will not be able to make it there before the end of this year.

i've been getting hundreds of e-mails about this, so i wanted to let

you know.

we regret that it didn't work out again, but there are MANY reasons why

we cannot, but we have made the promise that WE WILL come to south

america after the next album is released, hopefully sometime in 2005.

you guys have been VERY patient waiting for the band to come, and we

don't want to make you wait anymore.....but the work on the new album

is taking some time, and we won't be able to do any more touring after

august.....but we'll see you next year, and we'll make sure the

concerts are incredible.

recording studio/new album news

well....there really isn't any news.

just that the band is in their recording studio in new york city

working on new songs and making demo recordings with producer GORDON

RAPHAEL almost every day or every other day.

they haven't started recording the actual album yet, just getting new

song ideas down on tape as demos and such, but they'll be taking their

time, and maybe we can have something ready to go by mid-2005....we'll

see!
