January 31, 201313 yr Man, I surprisingly have no excitement whatsoever for a new Strokes album. I guess two mediocre albums in a row does that to you. I'll listen to it, of course, but my expectations are very minimal.

February 14, 201313 yr Man, that sounds like some ordinary Joe went into GarageBand and tried to make the most generic mimicry of a Strokes song possible. As much as I disliked Angles, at least "Under Cover of Darkness" was a pretty damn good lead single. This...is so dry.

March 25, 201313 yr I'm listening to it at the moment, and honestly, I can't see why so many people are bashing it. It's not that bad. It's quite different from their other albums, but it's still interesting.

March 27, 201313 yr "Is This It" is generally regarded as their best, though I like "Room on Fire" just as much. Basically, listen to the first two albums and the first half of the 3rd album, then act like everything after that doesn't exist.
March 27, 201313 yr i know that rolling stone has no pedigree anymore, but it did vote "Is This It" the number 2 album of the decade just passed behind kid A, so i think it would be wise to give it a listen - btw like the new album but they are never gonna top their first two.
