I rather have awesome music and a boring cover than meh music and a flashy cover.

good point, I liked that first song

Man, I surprisingly have no excitement whatsoever for a new Strokes album. I guess two mediocre albums in a row does that to you. I'll listen to it, of course, but my expectations are very minimal.

Listen to the New Strokes Single "All the Time"

[ame=http://soundcloud.com/thestrokes/the-strokes-all-the-time]The Strokes - All The Time by The Strokes on SoundCloud - Hear the world?s sounds[/ame]

The Strokes got so.... boring. :sleeping2:

Super lame guitar solo.

Man, that sounds like some ordinary Joe went into GarageBand and tried to make the most generic mimicry of a Strokes song possible.

As much as I disliked Angles, at least "Under Cover of Darkness" was a pretty damn good lead single. This...is so dry.

^, it's just such a boring song, although a lot of people didn't like One Way Trigger at least it was different.

I'm not really liking this one :\

I liked it! Even though yes, the solo is a bit boring, I actually liked it on the first listen.

I'm listening to it at the moment, and honestly, I can't see why so many people are bashing it. It's not that bad. It's quite different from their other albums, but it's still interesting.

Better than Angles.

Still worse than everything else.

Moving on...

Listened to it for 3 times and I still find it atrocious. Sounds like some random cover band playing some '80s cheesy songs. It goes down there with Weezer's Raditude, sorry

 No thanks. It's not bad, just outstandingly boring.

and the Strokes were always dull, Angles was their only good album.

It's true the Strokes only have one good album. Angles is not that album.

I haven't listened to any other The Strokes album :blank:

I've heard that Is This It is good tho.

"Is This It" is generally regarded as their best, though I like "Room on Fire" just as much. Basically, listen to the first two albums and the first half of the 3rd album, then act like everything after that doesn't exist.

i know that rolling stone has no pedigree anymore, but it did vote "Is This It" the number 2 album of the decade just passed behind kid A, so i think it would be wise to give it a listen - btw like the new album but they are never gonna top their first two.
