Anyone knows what the backing vocals actually mean?

Like most lyrics, I believe those are close. But the points of interest is in that last bridge part. I agree with this interpretation, but i've seen other ones as well.

Hopefully they'll add the lyrics when the full album is released. This thread is great for until then. I'd say you're really close to the actual lyrics anyways lol. Difficult to tell what is said in the 2nd verse in some parts

same here, this song is great so it helps in trying to figure out the lyrics if you can keep listening to the song lol

Someone in the other thread was asking what was being said in the very beginning.

 

I've looked around, and r/coldplay on reddit has a few things to say:

 

 

To me, 'Too Far Down" is the leading guess. But what they also suggested is playing the song at a slower pace. So, I went to youtube and under settings (the gear), I set playback to 0.5 speed. I'm not sure it fits in the context of the song, but it does sound like it. But I havent heard a good guess as to what is said after Too Far Down is said 3 times.

 

Also, not sure who mentioned but Apple and Moses are providing those words again.

It kind of sounds like "to father" but with a British accent so like "to fatha." That would fit with the whole Apple and Moses thing.
