"Tears stream down on your face..."

Featured Replies

Of course not, at least I hope so, that`s the way you are and may be you`re better and warmer than someone who cries to everything, but in vain.

Oh whoops I meant to put "lol" at the end of that post haha...

Hahaha ok now it reads like a quite different post :)

I am not someone who'd easily cry. I can take a lot, surprisingly. That being said, Coldplay have a full two songs that make me do this! They are truly such an amazing band... If they can do this.

Up With The Birds - Hands down best song by Coldplay. I don't know how to explain it. There simply cannot be anything that's more well crafted, touching, emotional, with a bit of happy and melancholy in a way. And the part where the soundscape explodes does it for me every time, where it drops off into the transition section. The ending from the "yeahhhhh" on will always be the best piece of music ever written. The piano outro I try not to think about when I'm talking about the song because it's that perfect, emotional, and touching. Tears always stream down my face at that point a ton. I could go on and on and on and on about how good this song is. I'd be really interested in how Coldplay came up with this one because it's just perfect. I don't know how someone could have such a musical mind to come up with a true masterpiece such as this gorgeous work of art.

In fact, this song is so good that I don't even have it in my Favorites. I feel it is so special, touching, emotional, and perfect that is should be saved for either when your listening to Mylo or on very special occasions.

Prospekt's March/Poppyfields - I would like to think of this as a more downbeat and melancholic version of Up With The Birds. The intro is very nice, and is a great way to open the song with a quiet acoustic guitar. But the real good part hits after "Drums. Here it comes..." It gives me a different feeling than Up With The Birds does. But it makes me cry, the overall feeling of that part with the background part and the lyrics are especially hard hitting in this one. Absolutely wonderful song, and as @I ran away said these have the saddest lyrics in Coldplay discography. Top 10 Coldplay song for me.

There are a few others which make me slightly tear up. Such as The Scientist and Politik. But overall, these songs are wonderful.

Great work Coldplay.

For me it was when I first heard 'Christmas Lights' live at the Hammersmith Apollo concert 2013.

I'd come to love CP well after they'd appeared in my home city and I used to watch the video of the song, in Liverpool.... and sooooo regretted not having seen them.

Then, at the end of that December concert, the 1st time I saw them live, , the first cord was played and I just ....well.......... that was it... I was gone !... hanging on to those chandeliers of hope.............

Other song that produce the tears are :- Everglow, Flock of Birds ( "O" ) and ...

Warning Sign............. sob

Warning Sign............. sob

Top 15 for me. Absolutely wonderful!

And... almost forgot........ 'What If " ..... breaks my heart

I used to listen to What If in mornings before I went to work in 2014. I was so unhappy with my workplace that I needed comfort already before going there, it was unbearable. I don't think I shed tears to it but while listening to it I could delve in sadness and to this day it touches me deeply.....

I understand you. I listen Coldplay every day on my way to work, especially while climbing the road right before the work because it gets so hard to go there and not being able to change what I want to change,or leave if I want to leave.

When it's not left anything but stay, there is Coldplay to help to climb the road,to resist, survive and HOPE.

P.s. And tears stream down on my face while climbing the road, but "I don't care they want to tear me apart,I don't care if they do... Cause in a sky,in a sky full of stars,I think I see Coldplay- you"

I forgot two. O (Reprise) hits me right from the beginning. Those guitars are absolutely perfect. Top 10 for me. Ughhhhh I can't remember the other!

But pretty much every song on my top 10 Coldplay songs at least make me feel like tearing up. Those were just the songs that break me.

Just listened to Prospekt's March+Poppyfields and Up With The Birds while overlooking the cityscape at sunset via the balcony. Reminded me especially with Up With The Birds just how good these songs are. I mean, there is no way how you could not like the outro of Up With The Birds. This just gets better every time I hear it. I'm still a little shaken up and I've listened to it 5 minutes ago. So powerful.

I like Up with the Birds too but I must admit it is not among Coldplay's best for me. But nice to hear that it touches you so deeply. Everyone is touched by different songs - we are all unique human beings :)

Up With the Birds is one of the best, if not the best, Coldplay album closers!

I've shared here that I was in a bad car accident eleven years ago. I also lost my dad and best job ever that year. While recovering from surgery then and later X & Y became my comfort. So just about any song on it makes me almost cry. But the one that really does it since 2014 is Green Eyes. That was a nickname for our beloved cat who we lost at age 18 that year. Then Paradise came out and it speaks volumes to me because I go to sleep in pain most nights and that is my time to escape into dreams.

I didn't know that, very sorry to hear :( It's true, I feel X&Y has a particularly healing effect for someone in distress (probably because of its emotional songs and themes of insecurity and comfort) - that's one of the reasons why I love it so much. Sorry about your cat. Did you name her after the Coldplay song or was it coincidence ?

May I ask why you are in pain most nights ? Are these late effects of the accident/surgery ?

Feel hugged :)

How many inspiring stories with Coldplay`s help. They are meant to lift and heal people. Like they said: "Help is just around the corner for us." Coldplay is just around the corner... I hope you`re doing good or better now, "believe in miracles".

Ahhhhh.... I so hope your work place is a better environment for you now.

Oh no :( That's terrible! I'm sorry to hear that. X&Y is a terrific album and I'm glad it helped you!

I devoted my career to making workplaces more nurturing. It breaks my heart that you had to endure this[emoji174]. No one should. So much of our lives are spent at work, and we get one shot at life, that those in leadership roles absolutely need to be able to help inspire people to do their best and become their best selves. If it were up to me, we'd let people freely listen to Coldplay or whatever other music helps them at work. Every person is also a leader, even if they don't have the title, and can make a difference in making a workplace better. [emoji409] Sorry for the rant. As a trained professional coach, it is just hard for me to hear about such an aweful work environment! Unfortunately, they are everywhere. I hope you got out without too many battle scars!

Love the last line! Thank you! Yes, I have chronic pain. My central nervous system and pain processing systems were messed up from the accident and years of treatments that were also painful. Either jaw and head to mid-back due to accident and related injuries or now bad sciatic nerve pain. I have to say my back surgeries were wonderfully helpful. If I do the right things, my back is pretty good. The doctors would say that it is not that I have a low pain tolerance threshold but that my system is more sensitive to pain.

Oh and to answer your other question, my cat wasn't named after Green Eyes. It was a nickname because of her gorgeous, piercing green eyes and I used to sing it to her[emoji197][emoji193][emoji80].

I can cry about a lot of stuff but never Coldplay songs. IF they really move me though, I tend to freeze and stare into space

Great to hear that you're helping about work environment! I'm glad that such a thing exists.
