And birds go flying at the speed of sound...

Nothing could be better

And here I lie on my own in a separate sky

One of the, if not the saddest Coldplay lyric ever written. Really the whole song is so melancholic and beautiful, I like to think of the "Poppyfields" section as the "everything is okay" part since I always tear up listening to this song, and something about the guitar there makes everything seem okay...

Tell me you love me, if you don't then lie, oh lie to me

About Poppyfields: to me, this section sounds like Sunday bells ringing over the former battlefields, on which poppies are now growing. As in, it is peace now and life goes on and the poppies and other plants grow over the fields were blood was once shed, and the wounds slowly begin to heal. It's like giving closure to something that has happened.

Oh my, writing that just brought tears into my eyes. Why am I so sensitive :-/

tell me your secrets and ask me your questions

Very descriptive! It definitely feels like that too. Good job of explaining it.

And don't worry, it's okay. I'd likely be tearing up if I wrote stuff like that too, in fact I'm coming close thinking about what you wrote. It's not an easy subject to think about. I don't blame you. :)

At night they would go walking, 'til the breaking of the day

Take us or leave us...

Who knew it would take so long to find such a simple word in a Coldplay song...

You can take a picture of something you see

Look up and you see birds
