Administrators stephen Posted April 2, 2018 Administrators Share Posted April 2, 2018 Hey everyone! We are in the process of completely revamping our multimedia section and need your help. The main aim of the revamp is to re-upload everything to our own servers so that they remain there for as long as possible. Pretty much every link from older eras has been dead for a while. We are also trying to organise everything into an easy to use system that favours high-quality recordings such as FLAC and HD transport streams. We are asking our users to comb through their Coldplay folders and upload any audio recordings of concerts in FLAC quality. Calls for video and lossy audio will come later but for now, we are only looking for FLAC audio concerts! Please post links to as much concerts as you have, preferably using mega.nz. We will alert you when we have downloaded them so you can then remove them. There is no need to organise anything, we will do that for you! Here is a sneak peek at what we have done already:

coldplaykb
Thank you so much! No problem! I know I have tons of stuff on my external HD. Also, you purely want HQ or professionally recorded stuff right? For example I have an entire VLV show (Mansfield 2009) that someone recorded. It's not the greatest quality, but the entire show is there. Not sure if you want stuff like that though.
jossec
Great initiative! I'll contribute. I assume we post the links here in this thread?

jossec
Here's a first one. 2014-06-12 Tokyo Dome City Hall, Tokyo, Japan The spectrogram makes me suspicious of the actual losslessness of the audio, but I myself didn't convert the files in any way. Also what about these? Will they be (or are they already) up? The threads are still there but the associated resources don't seem to exist anymore. Just so I know whether or not to bother with the ones of those I have.

Ok awesome! When I post, I will be sure to separate them so it's easy to sort.

jossec
Alright, so I should, for instance, upload the 2014-07-01 Royal Albert Hall concert, even though it was an “official” resource on the site previously?

The quality is pretty bad, that was the only GS concert I had prior to this and I refused to post it because it sounds terrible! Yes, most of the Ghost Stories concerts sound really bad. Looking at the spectrograms of the other concerts I have in a lossless format, none of them seem to be truly lossless. Perhaps the band seeded the radio stations with a lossy stream or something. Anyway, here's the only other two Ghost Stories concerts I have in a lossless format. Both seem to have had a lossly conversion somewhere along the line. 2014-04-26 Kurhaus, Baden-Baden, Germany 2014-05-28 Casino, Paris, France ← This one's in .shn but it's a lossless format so it can be converted to FLAC without further loss of information. Edit: The recording of the Sydney you just uploaded sounds pretty bad. I guess it's an audience recording? I have an MP3 of the radio broadcast which sounds much better, if you're interested. I think it is because most of them were recorded from digital radio and not analogue. The bitrates are therefore very low. Anyway, thanks for these two, I can add them to the collection now! Nie
I downloaded a lot of the GS concerts from Coldplaying Multimedia. I'm not sure in what format they are, a lot in mp3 format, but that's how I got them from here. Are there any you'd like me to upload?
jossec
I think it is because most of them were recorded from digital radio and not analogue. The bitrates are therefore very low. Could be, but then they would be incorrectly labelled FM. Also if the signal was already digital, then they shouldn't have re-encoded it at all. Unless that's impossible due to DRM or something. Here's 2011–2012. I might've missed something, I'll update if so. 2011-07-03 Main Square Festival, Arras, France 2011-06-11 Pinkpop, Landgraaf, Netherlands 2011-12-9 O2, London 2011-12-06 Dingwalls, London 2012-08-28 Parken, Copenhagen, Denmark 2012-09-06 Malieveld, The Hague, Netherlands ← This one is straight from the mixing desk. It's not a capture of a broadcast. Sounds pretty good :) 2012-09-12 Olympiastadion, Munich, Germany I'll repeat my edit from before which you might've missed since I wrote it while your were already writing your reply: Edit: The recording of the Sydney you just uploaded sounds pretty bad. I guess it's an audience recording? I have an MP3 of the radio broadcast which sounds much better, if you're interested.
coldplaykb
So I don't have as many as I thought I did. There are a bunch of empty folder, so not really sure what happened. I'll have to dig around in a few different hard drives to see what I can find. You probably already have all of these, but figured I would ask just in case. Here's what I have as of now: EDIT: Scratch Nissan Live Sets, that folder is empty too :(
