I've always liked u mass.

^ Yeah, it's clear that we are all drawn to Frank because of his killer tunes, not his outstanding looks :D

Don't matter though. I'd like to hear anyone else sing "slicing up eye balls ohh ho ho ho" and not sound like a retarded pedophile.

Frank's the man.

^ Indeed, Frank is the man.

He's kind of a BIG DEAL.

People KNOW him.

Then you need to listen to more Pixies. Where is your mind is great, but there is so much more. Easily, and without question, one of the most influential alternative rock bands of all time.

What songs would you suggest?

Coolio. It's so awkward and all over the place, it's great chaos.

Best tracks are Debaser and Monkey Gone To Heaven IMO.

To the average person I usually like awkward sounding music. :)

Some of my favorite songs are:

Gouge Away, Bone Machine, Hey, Debaser, U-Mass, and Dig for Fire. Monkey Gone To Heaven is another classic, but it's not really a personal favorite of mine.

Some of their stuff is pretty weird.

I don't know why but from the first time I heard it the chorus of Monkey Gone to Heaven and that guitar riff hooked me.

Ok so I had a listen last night and lets just say it's not my cup of tea. I remember hearing one other song by them I really liked though, just don't remember the name.

Where Is My Mind perhaps? That seems to be their "viva la vida".

I can understand why it ain't your cup of tea, especially at first listen. IMO The Pixies need to grow on you, not something you can simply jump into.

I felt the same way about Animal Collective when I first heard In The Flowers I thought it was complete shit but it's grown into one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard.

There you go. I doubt the Pixies will ever be seen as beautiful, but chaotically amazing is a possibility.

The funny thing about the pixies is that it doesn't matter how popular they are. So many musicians have named them as an inspiration that their legacy is secure.

The only album I have is Death To The Pixies.

I love Debaser

this.

my favorite band The Frames' first album was basically a Pixies homage, all the songs are so heavily influenced that it sounds almost as though the Pixies wrote them.

:curtain: Hi!

I don't have their albums but years ago a friend made a kind of "best of" CD for me and I love the songs I know!!

Caribou, Hey, Where is my mind are the ones I remember the titles of but I only just listened to the CD and didn't have a songlist :uhoh:

So my knowledge is very limited but the ones that I know are all great!

The songs give you shivers from awesomeness!

I was at a small party 2 weeks ago and the DJ played "Hey"... Him and me were the only ones having smiles on our faces, the other people didn't know the song. :disappointed:

Fight Club is responsible for a dico playing "Where is my mind" almost every week though.

Speaking of that, the movie was on TV a few days ago and it's sooo great to tune up the volume at the end and just enjoy the atmosphere the song and the images create.
