I have so many trepidations when it comes to the next release.

 

If it's like AROBTTH or Parachutes I'm going to be forced to ask "Why do I need more of this?"

 

But then ... based on what I've heard from them to this point, I don't know what the next logical step in their career path is.

 

It's so up in the air. Best case scenario: They try something completely different.

Yeah ... I would guess that their third album is going to be to them what 12 Memories was for Travis, and 12 Memories worked.

what was 12 memories for travis?

im not that knowledgable on travis history

12 Memories was a rocky-er album for Travis after a history of sentimental-based albums.

anyone is capable of change, and i think what ever coldplay do will be fresh and different for them, I don't really think of the new album because I trust them a lot on making good decisions with their music, meh

I don´t think that will be b-sides on the 3rd record....I like b-sides...But I think that they wouldn´t di that.

 

But well...I can´t wait to listen to it!!

I think they should actually release a filler Album this year (as a stop gap, the new one will still come out next year) which has all those decent songs affore mentioned which are not albumed, tracks like Animals, Ladder to the sun and Poor Me can feature as new tracks, maybe one making A-side status. Obviously nobody will agree with me but you know, Doves did it and so did Oasis.

It certainly would keep people interested, while making those amazing songs such as Moses available to the wider public. :)

AROBTTH was so different to parachutes that it will be hard to predict what comes next......mind you i have heard guy say that the second was rockier than the 1st so the 3rd should be rockier than the 2nd. either way it should be brill cos it is coldplay after all!! :D

Technically they should have had a new album out this year.... it's normally every two years isn't it?

It's understandable though with the baby...marriage etc! :lol:

I could see ladder to the sun being a very big single in the future. it is catchy enough to be one of coldplays most popular songs ever
