JUSTIN ROCKS STATES

U.S fans furious at Darkness walk-out

They've been desperately trying to break America - but it looks like rockers The Darkness may have scuppered their chances.

The lads from Lowestoft were scheduled to appear on the popular agony aunt radio show Loveline, which invites its millions of listeners to ring up and ask for advice.

Tyra Banks, Quentin Tarantino, Ice-T and Carmen Electra have all been guests on the show, but when Justin Hawkins and his bandmates arrived at the studio, they clearly had no idea what kind of questions they were going to be asked.

For when a female listener rang up in tears to say she was sexually assaulted at a young age, instead of lending a sympathetic ear, the band legged it.

An insider tells us: "They said something like, 'We're not here to deal with this kind of thing' and then just walked away. The call was shocking to say the least, but no one knew what to do when The Darkness left."

The show's co-host Adam Carolla says: "They had just came back from filming Jay Leno's TV show. They'd had a couple of drinks, were all wound up and didn't want to stay here for two hours."

And instead of understanding their idols' stance, their new American fans were far from impressed.

One wrote on an internet messageboard: "They must have known the name of the show was Loveline, not Q&A with The Darkness. I used to like them but now they can just f*** off."

And another stormed: "I'm glad in a year or two they will be non-existent because clearly they suck."

A Darkness spokesperson said: "The fact they left the show says it all. They felt very uncomfortable."

Critics in the US had hailed them as the "saviours of rock".

But too many more incidents like this and they'll be following in the footsteps of Robbie Williams and Oasis as just another Brit act that can't quite cut it across the pond.

"JUSTIN HAWKINS wanted to smack QUENTIN TARANTINO after the director stopped him from singing on TV.

THE DARKNESS’ frontman was livid after Tarantino vetoed two songs the group were to perform on a late-night USA chat show he was guestdirecting.

This week’s NME says the Kill Bill director refused to talk to the band when they questioned his decision.

Justin said: “We were supposed to do two songs, Growing On Me and I Believe In A Thing Called Love.”

But Tarantino wanted to end Jimmy Kimmel Live with a fight scene involving the band.

Justin added: “So we said, ‘Bring him to us and tell us why,’ and he sent somebody else to talk to us, which we found insulting.

“He took away our airtime and then didn’t bother to come and explain why in person.

“I thought about going in there and slapping him about a little bit.”

Quentin is the latest in a line of big names Justin has slagged off.

They include OASIS, COLDPLAY, RADIOHEAD and Glastonbury Festival boss MICHAEL EAVIS."

Nevermind Tarantino, someone needs to smack Hawkins!

 God ! Justin thinks he´s God ! He´s a f*cker !
