if you have seen the documentary "bowling for columbine" just to clarify a few things i need a canadian's point of view.

tell me if everything he portrayed canada to be is true.

unlocked doors in broad daylight. little crime. i cant remember any other things i thought were ludicrous at the time but he spent a good 15-20 mins of the film on canada so i was just curious to see if u think that any of what he says is false because you live in canada and all.

What?? You leave your doors unlocked? That's strange. I don't.

Oh, and the place that he showed that was considered "the ghetto" or where all the lower income housing is was not accurate. There are places that are worse off....waaaaay worse.

Why wouldn't you leave your doors unlocked if people were home anyway?

We NEVER leave our doors unlocked. I don't know many people who do. Most people have alarm systems.

And there is still crime. Remember when he was comparing the statistics the US has about 300 million citizens (am I right?) and Canada has only 30 million. California even has more people than the entire country of Canada. So there will be less deaths by guns, but keep in mind there are also less people.

it's going to rain monday in oakville!

during the day I don't lock the door, it's usually open, I only really lock the door if I'm leaving the house, or if I'm going to bed

A lot of people here lock their doors. I think the only person i know who doesn't lock their doors is my brother. It's open most of the time, but that's just weird to me.

YES! the ghetto things thats another thing i thought was ludicrous.

yeah. that place was nothing. there are truly terrible places to live here.

if no one's home the doors are locked. usually we leave them unlocked mostly because we're always loseing our keys. well not me, i'm responsible :P

we keep our door unlocked throughout the day or unless we're going out and then we lock it at night

haha, yea.

we don't invite burglars into our house...

I should hope not about that either. Invite them in for a nice glass of, uh, tea? Beer?
