September 30, 200817 yr Every should buy their dvd from O2! One of the best perfomances from a band ever I got it on very special offer for £5 a few weeks ago.:smug:
September 30, 200817 yr It is actually a very good performance. Tom's voice blows a lot of other big band's singers out of the proverbial water. Great energy, good mix of slow and fast songs, and executed pretty much perfectly. All in all an excellent DVD.
September 30, 200817 yr Anyone else surprised Perfect Symmetry hasn't leaked yet? Less than two weeks (!) to release. I can't wait!
September 30, 200817 yr Tom's voice blows a lot of other big band's singers out of the proverbial water. who, exactly ?
September 30, 200817 yr Oh, that was just a spur of the moment thing. What I meant is that if you're after a really good voice then you can't go far wrong with Tom, compared to Chris Martin for example, or Gary Lightbody, who are both usually average or piss poor. Obviously though the quality of the voice isn't always 'essential', it's more about the music and the whole atmosphere with some bands. Anyway, I still maintain that it's a good DVD.
October 1, 200817 yr Find them overated and boring,,,,,,, hated everybodys changing song...... only like one song of them. Is it any wonder? others suck. i think . would never get to this band any day. hope that never changes..... or will it?

October 1, 200817 yr funny post I've tried ignoring you and avoided being rude but I really can't be arsed trying to be nice any more. Fuck off you moron.
October 1, 200817 yr Sorry for the bad language. It wasn't necessary at all and I could have worded my response a lot better. I was just fed up of the seemingly constant barage of one liners and snidey comments that you know are going to provoke people, no matter how hard one tries to ignore them. Seriously, everytime I've seen SP, Gary's voice has been questionable, as has Chris M's. I'll be really fair now, Tom Chaplin's voice back in 2004/2005 was terrible; probaby due to the alcohol and drugs he was experimenting with. But on the last tour, he was fantastic. The guy even sang perfectly at the War Child gig in Manchester even though he had food poisoning and could hardly stand up! Anyway, don't know where I'm going with this... Bye for now.

If singing quality alone means everything, then obviously you'll go and listen to Pavarotti, Dame Kiri, or someone like that. I don't think anyone would say either Chris or Tom are the best singers in the world, but they both have unique singing styles, and character in abundance, which is ultimately far more important. Chris's off-key moments have pretty much become a trademark, and his seemingly "nonchalant" attitude is one of the traits that make him stand out from the crowd.;)
