it does hurt at first. well i play bass, but that hurt at first.....but i like having callouses on my hands i dunno why i just do :dozey: you'll get used to it soon and then you'll be glad you did cause its fun to play :)

I have several, but i can't be arsed to upload anything at the moment. I've got a recording of the Stairway to Heaven solo somewhere. I'll upload it when I get the time.

 

Anyway, yes the pain in your fingers is frustrating at first. I nearly gave up trying to learn after a few days because my fingers were in so much pain. But you get used to it after a few weeks... honest. After 4 years of playing I can now stick a pin into my fingertips on my left hand and not feel a thing.

My problem is that I have an electric guitar, and you're not supposed to start off with one (the metal strings and all that)...

 

One good thing is that when I told my parents today that I'm gonna get an acoustic one soon cos it's better for beginners, they didn't seem to mind *crosses fingers*

 

i started with an acoustic....electric is easier...believe me. you can hear your mistakes better on an electric too.

haha sure , here's the link http://riff42.tripod.com/Jam/strokes_jam.mp3 just right click and 'save target as' but it sux coz this jam is really old , i recorded it when i was first trying to learn to play reptilia, I can play it way better on electric though :cool:

btw, if u want to be really good , just try to play tricky solos on acoustic till u master 'em .. then try to play 'em on electric and you'll be like :stunned: Im god haha

I played the guitar for like a year... I still pick it up ere now n' then, but I love teh piano. That's my talent. :P
