If we don't wanna listen to a Coldplay release like an album/B-sides etc., I could make a playlist of Christmas-/and/or Winter-themed Coldplay songs and covers

Would anyone be up for a short-notice listening party before sometime before Chrismtas ? It would be awesome if we could organize that...!

Beautiful ! As a standalone it sounds so soothing and relaxing...shows once more what great atmospheric arrangements are hidden in Coldplaay songs.

add in there: removed those chopped-up pitch-modified vocal sounds that Stargate threw into every major track (most annoying in AOAL and Army of One, but also in Birds for example)

Yeah, I have bleak outlooks for the future as well (see my recently posted rant in the Kaleidoscope EP thread). Today, after a while, I listened to the entire AHFOD album again, and throughout I was like "what am I actually listening to ?". An album full of unoriginal synthpop. Only Fun and Amazing Day are noteworthy songs (although they could have been a million times better if they had a rock production and drumkit instead of these generic drumbeats). By the way, it has been oddly quiet in here for a while, I wish more people would post here but looks like most Oldplayers don't frequent the forum that often any more :(

Now this one I associate with warm, golden,sunny mornings :D I don't think I really associate any Coldplay with a rainy day except for Rainy Day, lol :D

Hm, I tend to associate it with clear summer days, but that's maybe because of when I first listened to it...

When I saw the card with the pictures I immediately thought this looks like Nie, then I scrolled down and read it is indeed Nie :D Wonderful things everyone ! :)

Sadly, I don't have much hope for the next LP...I mean, just look at the music Chris is listening to and whose style he is embracing. If your idols are Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Beyonce, Drake, Katy Perry etc., in other words everything that is "in" at the moment, instead of what is good, then this will be reflected in the music that you're going to make. I doubt this is going to radically change whithin the next couple of years. I worry that the next album might be full-blown Hip Hop or something. I also think within the next years Chris might give up the rest of his crooning vocal style entirely in favor of short verses or exclamations, as they are preeminent in songs like AOAL, HFTW or XMTS, actually most of the last album. This tendency also shows in his live performance style, where he tends to shorten words and no longer draw them out as he used to. Music for the next generation whose attention span last about 2 seconds until the next beat. Forgive me for the bitterness of this post, but all of that, to me, is so sad to see.

You should hear my recordings of Princess of China from the Coldplay shows I went to...more like Princess of Out-Of-Tune-Singing :P

Today will be a work-intense day for me so I started out the day with playing my Glastonbury 2005 DVD while getting ready for the day. Everytime I watch it, I think what a great performance ! Probably their best performance of all time !

So lucky to hear a Coldplay song being covered by another artist live ! :)
