  1. For me, Coldplay is the only band in this respect. Maybe Pink Floyd on some albums come close, but there's a huge, huge gap between Coldplay and anything else !
  2. Oh, but why do you leave the game ?? ?
  3. Thanks, cp! I really hope so too. It deserves a place at least in the Top 5. Viva La Vida was Coldplay's greatest coup. It is the ultimate anthem. And to be honest, while stuff like 42, LiT (yeah its cool, but its a only short instrumental), The Escapist (yeah it's cool, but it's a one line "song") and similar things are still about I don't see why Viva should be eliminated.
  4. I am just wondering how long we, the Viva savers, can keep this battle up. To be honest this thread has become a bit of a pain - every round again I'm shivering to see if Viva will lose or not. For me, it belongs in the top three of this Era. I'd be very happy if it made the top 5. But due to the large (and for my part incomprehensible) hate on Viva I'm worried it will not even make it to the Top 10. But then I look at that list and I think, people, just think about it - is every single song on this list (and aming them some quite obscure ones !) really better than Viva ? Come on !
  5. I am too much of a pessimist to hope for something other than a pop album, but I hope that there will be at least 1 song on the album I absolutely love. Even on Ghost Stories, their worst album in my opinion, that happened (Ghost Story), so I'm confident there will be at least 1 great song on it.
  6. Saw a used copy of the Talk DVD for 4 dollars and got it. Another add to my Coldplay collection. Although I collect nothing beyond X&Y to be honest, so I might as well call it the "Oldplay" collection :)
  7. Big thanks to all those who are participating in the saveViva campaign already ! :) #voteRainyDay to #saveViva
  8. I agree with your interpretation except the guy surely is not standing for Chris Martin :) And she actually wants to perform with him as seen in the scenes on the small stage and in the studio, but her producers pull him off the track because they don't like hime. I also had to think of the Scientist video when the flower vase reversed its fall in the end. Actually it's a cute little story, if a bit cheesy.
  9. We Never Change vs. [video=youtube;kTi7qSMYzbk]
  10. NOOOOOOO ! I (Ran Away) will not let that happen. Everyone who cares about Viva La Vida just a little bit, vote Rainy Day to save Viva !! Viva La Vida is the anthem of this decade. It is a song to be remembered in a hundred years to come. It was one of the songs that brought me and many others to Coldplay in the first place. It is a masterpiece, it is unique ! It deserves to last a bit longer ! I vote Rainy Day ! #SaveVIVA OOOOOAAAH OOAAAAOOOOH OOOOOAAAH OOAAAAOOOOH
  11. Yeah, seems the Maliks should better create their own songs...although of course technically all is in order as long as you credit the original writers like Lamhein, but it is certainly not very innovative. I actually liked the other music video you posted, a nice little love story and I kept wondering when the twist will come ;)
  12. and they're climbing over you until you say (and the next line is one of my favorite parts of this song ;))
  13. I see nothing wrong with that, especially since some of us (correctly ?) feel that a different, more low-profile personal life of Chris may have prevented Coldplay becoming Coldpop (getting friends with the biggest pop acts etc.)
  14. Oops, sorry. I normally don't have an issue with double posting (and I don't wanna steal the crown from 42Escapist :P) but currently Coldplaying.com is very much lagging for me and some pages take ages to load or fail loading entirely. I don't know why, I'm posting from my home laptop as usual.
  15. nope... Another hint: The songs specifies a certain place for living.
  16. I could imagine detaching myself from listening to anything Coldplay puts out in the future, but I could not imagine ever parting with their Oldplay Era songs. I am just so emotionally attached to them, they got me through difficult times, and they will in the future always be a part of a time when I was young, which is another thing that makes them special. Also, I tried to discover other bands etc. But I found of every other artist, I ever only like 2-3 songs of the entire discography maximum. That's what's so unique about Coldplay ! They are the only band from which I found myself loving more than just a few songs. The Oldplay melodies, they are unique. No one is gonna replace them anytime soon. And even if Coldplay decides tomorrow to entirely switch to putting out EDM music accompanied with videos of semi-nude girls dancing around Chris who starts singing about butts, I will still love their Oldplay songs (even if I may not mention Coldplay to anyone anymore then :D). Sorry, I have to disagree there. It was those damned professional critics who never understood the masterpiece that X&Y was and ripped it into pieces, thereby pushing Coldplay towards a radical change in their sound. They are in part responsible for the Coldplay sound we have now.

  18. No.... What is mentioned in the song is a quite unprotected way of living...that could go badly wrong in a storm or other natural catastrophes.
  19. Hm, that's a tough one because I like neither of them. But Princess of China is a song that i like better than Lhuna so I will go for Rihanna. the band when they were totally unknown vs. the band after they had become famous

  21. Just watched the Lovers In Japan music video for the first time...and got all dizzy because the picture spins all the time. I wish Coldplay's Viva Era videos were less weird, somhow. :/
  22. None of these :) Here's a hopefully helpful rephrasing: Doing what is mentioned in this song (not in the title, in the lyrics) is a really bad idea if you live in an area that is often haunted by great storms.
  23. Rainy Day is a horrible Coldplay "song", and VLV is both a great Coldplay song and one of the greatest songs of the decade !

  25. As far as I'm informed, he co-wrote the song with Bergling. Bergling is named as the sole producer.
