  1. Someone said Orphans sounds like a Newplay/AHFOD song. To me, it really doesn’t.. the production is just way to good. It honestly sounds like a Stone Roses song. I knew the Britpop spirit in them lived on. Magnificent.
  2. Arabesque is the song I have been waiting for Coldplay to release since VLVODAAHF. It sounds so gritty and the sounds in there are amazing. JC90 was bang on the money with Riverman by Noely G Even the cursing by Chris adds so much energy and attitude in there. It honestly sounds like an Oasis track it’s got so much attitude. I never in a million years thought they were capable of this at this point of their career but they’ve actually done it... the beautiful, beautiful bastards. I’m nearly in tears with happiness.
  3. Arabesque is the best song Coldplay have released since Violet Hill. Finally Coldplay have released a song with edge again. I’m man enough to admit I was wrong for writing them off as redoing AHFOD forever. Coldplay is back, baby
  4. That’s a big compliment coming from yourself. Positively buzzing to hear these.
  5. Too late. AROBTTH is Coldplay’s magnum opus already. I do reckon this will be Coldplay’s ‘Sgt. Pepper’
  6. Happy days. Going to wait for official release but really looking forward to it.
  7. Can someone confirm it doesn’t sound like Los Unidades as someone was insinuating?
  8. Obvious troll is obvious. You’re not fooling anyone.
  9. I won’t be able to judge until I actually hear it but it sounds like they’ve actually done it, the beautiful bastards actually done it and aren’t going to release a NewPlay pop album. I hope in addition to songs in French, Brass and Sax sections, classical arrangements we will get rock tunes like on Viva (Violet Hill, 42 etc)
  10. That sounds awesome actually. Which tune was the rockier one in the snippet “You be me, I be you” ?
  11. Without giving a link, what’s it sound like? Classic Coldplay,Viva vibes, new play?
  12. I have no idea what you’re on about if I’m honest. You said this new album will be shit without having heard anything and a new album that would sound like AHFOD would be better? Don’t know many real musicians who like AHFOD, that’s for sure.
  13. I heard snippets, and two 15 second snippets sounded much better than the entirety of AHFOD lol You haven’t heard all the songs either and said the whole album will be shit?
  14. Are you feeling alright? I’d go to the doctor and get your ears examined if I were you.
  15. I don’t know how to feel about this. On the one hand, it’s good to see them rock the boat a bit and shake up people’s perception of them as ‘bland’ and ‘safe’ but I really hope they won’t use cursing and vulgarity just because that’s what all the ‘cool’ popstars do these days. So more like Mumford and Sons and less like Niki Minaj. In all reality albums can get an explicit rating for very minor stuff (use of the word ‘gun’ for example) so I doubt it’s anything ground shattering.
  16. I have a sense this album will be quite similar to AHFOD rather than Viva. Viva seems to be the gold standard in regards what people want to see from the bands ‘experimentation’ but I predict we’ll see songs like AHFOD, Birds, Fun etc I think that rockier track will be an Up&Up or AOAL equivalent, but it’s hard to say from only a snippet.
  17. If you are saying that AHFOD is a guitar band album compared to AROBTTH (or even X&Y for that matter) you’re going to have a hard time selling that around here. If you want to be semantic about it, then YES, there are guitars on the album. The point was they are buried on a lot of songs under production or electronic synth sounds and don’t appear at all on some.
  18. Would explain the Rockiness of it considering it’s Viva/Early MX era.
  19. Actually I think that first song (I could be you) plays like rock, you know. That sounds like it was ripped straight from the NME in 1994 Stone Roses would be proud, can’t wait to hear that one in full. The other track is fairly paint by numbers modern Coldplay, lots of oooh aahhhs and bombastic, not liking it
  20. The first song sounds really good actually
  21. Pretty much know what to expect from the album now after hearing that snippet. Mylo XyloThree
  22. So from that leaked snippet I can safely say my expectations of this album have hit rock bottom. “My heart goes boom boom boom” come on now... I wish after 2009 Coldplay came to an end and the last 4 eras were under the name Los Unidades... The A Rush Of Blood To The Head band are dead and buried.
  23. Sounds very Newplay to me production wise. Also the lyrics are very AHFODish. Probably not the classical or return to Viva album people was expecting then.
