1. I miss In My Place. Always got a massive crowd reaction.
2. Some energy from the show tonight. I got some friends around and we hooked it up to a speaker and sat outside with a BBQ and listened. I was disapointed due to the lack of Oldplay but my friends who are more casual fans or don't like Coldplay at all seem to be won over. I felt the cover as well as the Beejee/Michael Davis sort of stole the spotlight toward the end, especially considering the lack of older material in the setlist. During the MX tour at these festival's they tender to cater the setlist toward a more rock audience but that was nowhere to be found here. The exclusion of Violet Hill pains me. Disappointed it's nowhere to be found. Clocks lip-sync again. Shows complete contempt for the older work imo, unacceptable at Glastonbury. As I criticized The Paradise remix, ASFOS, Beyonce, lack of Parachutes material, Everglow etc one friend remarked "You claim to love this band but all you've done is complain about them" found it funny as it reminded me of this forum. Glastonbury 2005 will always be their best day out.
3. Sad to see such a quality thread die a slow, laborious death :(
4. Don't include ASFOS as we're to far into the game Spies
5. Intentional or not, when they stop mid song it really ruins the performance for me. This tour seems all about showmanship and flashy appearance rather than the actual music.

Absolutely. My favourite shot in the whole video is the shot in black and white with the tear gas being shot at the police on horseback. I didn't realize until my third viewing that there's a house of cards in the background. I interpret the shot as reflecting authority's grip on society as being ready to collapse at anytime. My favourite Coldplay videos are the alternative Violet Hill video, All Your Friends and now this. The political imagery is something they should do more of imo. Even the Politik visuals for the tour aroused in me the same feeling I had on first listen to the song back in 05!

8. It might be wise to add it to the Coldplaying YouTube account @Sparky @stephen I'd imagine it's going to be a challenge getting it to the band/the band's management.
9. Depends how loosely you define "expedition" ;) Have you ever slept in a vehicle?

Fantastic. Best Coldplay video since Violet Hill Miles better than BMX bikes!
11. The Adversary replied to AMDB9's topic in Up&Up
Very interesting..... Let's see how the bikes fit in. Given Coldplays tendency to scrap MV this might be something completely different altogether. I'm very intrigued.
12. I never wanted Coldplay to be Radiohead. I love Radioheads 2nd and 3rd albums but when you compare Coldplays sophomore and third effort, it's a completely different sound. The relationship is purely casual and the similarities are only surface level. Coldplay should just be Coldplay and signature Coldplay is the first three albums.
13. ^^Much prefer the original Tears For Fears version:
14. This is a very naive comment. Coldplay have made a career from wearing their influences on their sleeve. Coldplay are genius in what they do and Chris Martin is the best melodist of his generation, but breaking newground and being innovative is not really a tag you can put on them.
15. When I saw Chris performed Twisted Logic I nearly died from excitement.
16. A Rush Of Blood To The Head
17. These are pretty much my thoughts as well. I have no problem with them using backing tracks sparingly, when the need arises. In the 90's it was common for bands to have an entire orchestral outfit in the background filling up all the elements (Oasis is the one that comes to mind) that was really tacky and unnecessary. I think strategic use of backing tracks really adds to the live experience, one example would be the ambient noise on Violet Hill as it really helps cement the atmosphere and make it sound closer to the record. No one with any experience in music would criticize the use of backing elements once it's done as an aid, not a crutch. Ad-libbing an entire song is something else entirely and people shouldn't wrongly conflate the two.
18. That song IS one big radio edit.
