  1. Hey look at that first sentence. If they're unsure about the future they could take a little revisit to their older days whether they're sure of it or not! Even though they said that they're not going to try rock anymore (hard to tell since they're so not straight forward) it could still happen that they do it in yet another way! :D
  2. ... That other comment saying MM tied the concept strongly, that's why I do like it in that way. Very important song on the album. Even though Coldplay can do better I need to admit it's a very strong rock track. :D But it's just that Coldplay have so much good songs, and one of them has to be last :D Major Minus is still way better than radio mainstream "stuff" of today. Wait, technically I just did a +/- of MM when I'm supposed to be doing I Ran Away  (that doesn't work anymore :() Now, on to the song I am supposed to do a review... I Ran Away! The one who I replied to above! :D +: Awesome rocky drum intro, coldplay don't have a lot of songs beginning with just the drums. The guitar has the pecfect sound and the piano goes right along with it. The song ties together very nicely as a whole, has a great melody, is strong instrumentally, and as a whole is a great track. :D -: Honestly, nothing! I hope your pleased with this review @I ran away:D EDIT: Whoopsies! Almost forgot a song to recommend! Life in Technicolor ii
  3. If that would have been the case I think this would have beaten MX for my top fav album. But they wouldn't do that, since they are highly experimental in this album, which is also very nice but sacrifices how good the album is. I like what they tried tho. Can't blame them for trying out hip-hop (what kind of band does alt-rock, disco-rock, full-on pop, EDM AND Hip-hop? That's right, no other band)
  4. No one's seemed to mention it before but I'll say it now: this is extremely similar to the beginning at least of Thing's I Dont understand. Their beginnings are very similar. The high guitar parts even resemble each other sound-wise. I'd be willing to bet they took Thing's I Don't Understand's beginning, twisted it up a bit, and the result was AHFOD. Now I don't know about the rest of the song since I've never heard it but the beginning, just go back and hear Thing's I don't understand again, it's so similar.
  5. +: You've GOT to be kidding me. This is by far the worst song on MX. (IMO) -: I agree. The live version is actually pretty good though. BTW, please don't take my "worst songs on MX" view as me saying this song sucks. Because it doesn't. I actually think this song is decent (and it gets better as it goes on too). But because all that's left is AMAZING songs (take away Princess of China, that's good, not amazing) the one decent song is the worst. Again, Major Minus is decent. Bot not amazing like everything else except PoC on MX. - X&Y +: The intro is beautiful. I love how it builds up. The part where it goes "You and me are floating on a tidal wave"... is also really nice. As a whole, really strong rock track. -: Not the strongest of songs on the album. It feels a little "cut off". There should have been more material, for example the guitar part that hits at around 2:05 is awesome but it should be placed much later in the song. At 2:30 the "You and me are floating on a tidal wave..." hits again, but that part literally just played before the guitar part. Again, there should be more material. Because of the placements of all the parts this song feels really short, and cut off, as I explained before, and therefore the song just feels weirder than it should be. Not only because of the placement of the parts of the song but it's just a "weirder" song. I don't know. I shouldn't be going on and on trying to explain something I know I can't explain :p Mylo Xyloto/Hurts like Heaven
  6. Did anyone see my last post about the X&Y song references? It's on the last page. I just needed to post this because I feel like this is a great idea and that if I hadn't have made the decision to post this than it'd go unnoticed. I just want people to know that possibilities. :D
  7. LOL well that was dumb for that commercial to come on. BTW I heard AOAL on the Hit List this morning :D - You know what I've been wondering? There were a ton of songs discarded from the X&Y sessions, most of which we never have even heard. As we all know, there are numerous references in the songs that actually did make the album that refer back to some of the songs released as B-sides or that was never released, but were leaked. "Thing's you'll never understand" --> Things I Don't Understand. "You can climb a ladder up to the sun" --> Ladder To The Sun. There's one more but I'm not sure. Because of this, we can say with confidence that there are many more references in songs that made the album to songs that were never meant to be heard. In fact, there were 4 albums worth of discrarded songs. There's probably references to the titles of what those songs were in the X&Y songs. It's crazy when you think about it, Coldplay could be giving us hints to what these song's titles were that were never heard by anyone except the band themselves. Some possibilities are "Fighting with my weak hand" "Driven to Distraction" "Do Something That's Never Been Done" "Take a Picture" "In a Permanent State" <-- That one's quite likely I think. But anyway you get my point. Hopefully one day these tracks will somehow come to light and get leaked! :D Hopefully you've also read this all because I honestly think that this is a strong possibility and a good thought....
  8. As for the Oceans video, I love that video! I just discovered it a month or so ago too. I was just looking random Coldplay music and saw that, clicked it since I like Oceans and it's so nice,. I love that song, and I love Oceans. The setting fits the song so well. I love the two or so times where the camera spins around to give a view of the ramp and the lights going down... that song kind of makes you look around, notice the darker and more interesting details... it's magical to be honest. My third favorite song off GS for sure. I also like how the live thing kind of goes you know. It's so interesting. MX tour: I completely agree. So full of life, energe, color... that looks amazing.
  9. Personally my top 3 songs are 10/10 for me.
  10. Hmm now well we know! Interesting...
  11. Gold In Them Hills - Ron Sexsmith feat. Chris Martin I never really listened to it to be honest till a few days ago. I just listened to it recently and it's stuck in my head now. Arguably their best collaboration.
  12. WOOOOO!! That's how you take care of them Coldplay!
  13. I've had that same small feeling inside me too. All the speculation, excitement pre-release is now over. I guess we still have the B-sides to look forward too. :D
  14. I've tested it, and it actually turns out it doesn't copy the multi color formatting over. So, I wasn't going to spend an hour making it multi-colored lol. BTW, can you put up the new thread @arushofjacktothehead?
  15. This chart battle ain't looking good so far. :(
  16. Heard AOAL on the Hit List again today :D
  17. Sweet! Hopefully anyone that couldn't watch it now can! :D
  18. Time flies. :( It was fun while it lasted. Supper's ready at least so it's perfect timing. :D
  19. It's very obvious that Chris has ran out of energy very fast. He's breathing heavily, and now he's dancing around even more.... don't be surprised if he goes off a little
  20. I do agree with you, however they were "better" at it in their older days, so as to speak. :)
  21. Chris Piano Outro. So beautiful every time. :)
  22. See? Their more "subtle" ways of expression still aren't gone! In fact, I think this album is making a return to the "subtleness" of their older work.
  23. That piano intro to Viva was gorgeous. That should be in the studio version. It just sounds so nice. Time for the second-best track of Coldplay. Viva la Vida!
  24. Honestly, I think that because of this tour, because he's getting older and it's getting harder to keep up with the more "dancey" tracks I think they'll start a trend of going back to their alt rock ways to be honest. They can't keep up the energy of the dance tracks forever you know... well, hopefullu they go back to alt-rock. Their "pop era" has been great, hopefully they do go back and don't go down the wrong route....
