In Dreams (sample of Up and Up)
Woah this is really experimental! Holy! Great track! Very New play style, production is sooooo awesome, this is certainly a very different, interesting, and nice track for sure. This is some of the stuff I'd expect from the band's AHFOD B-sides or EP, if an EP ever does come out.

The Positive ETIAW Thread
I so agree :)

Remake the AHFOD using Newplay songs
1. Mylo Xyloto 2. Hurts Like Heaven 3. Birds 4. Charlie Brown 5. M.M.I.X 6. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall 7. Everglow 8. U.F.O (instead of something leading into PoC, something leading into Paradise? :D) 9. Paradise 10. Miracles 11. Christmas Lights (with DLIBYH outro leading into UWTB) 12. Up With The Birds Man if we had just a couple more album tracks I could have made this list a little better... but it's okay! :D funny thing is is I just saw the list of songs and immediately started compiling this massive 20-song album without reading this: LOL EDIT: Now that I noticed that the maker of this game was @arushofjacktothehead, now it the time to say... It always seems like you have the best ideas for games here! Keep it up! :D

Top 3 songs? :)
Best: 1. Birds (#7 on my all time Coldplay list, so beautiful, Oldplay + Newplay combined, just.. :D) 2. Amazing Day (So energetic, powerful, beautiful, soaring, gorgeous!) 3. Everglow (beautiful nice little piano ballad, not the best out of Coldplay but nice nonetheless) Middle: 4. Up&Up (Ignoring the production as much as possible, if the studio version was exactly like the live version it'd be #1 on this list) 5. A Head Full Of Dreams (Groovy bassline, similar to Thing's I Don't Understand, great guitar work, really solid as a whole) 6. Adventure Of A Lifetime (awesome guitar riff, catchy, groovy, as it goes on it gets better, really experimental by Coldplay, as a whole solid track) 7. Fun (as amazing as it is, there's just 6 better songs above this one. The intro guitar is one of the best things I've heard from the band, so moving, as a whole a really solid track, a bit poppy though (to be expected), getting some real Tove Lo vibes from it, solid track overall) Worst: 8. Army Of One (Bridge between the great and the okay songs on the album. Catchy, great Fix You organs in the backgrond, like the experimentation with the vocal effects, but really there's like no variation at all, it's the same thing over and over again, and the melody itself is good but not great. Drags on, even though it's short.( 9. Hymn For The Weekend (Great piano, very experimental of the band to try a track like this out, not your usual radio song, sounds very different and experimental with the trumpets, however it's just a little too popyy, even though the lyrics don't refer to actually getting drunk and high they're still really bad compared to Coldplay's older works, but hey, there needs to be some of those lyrics in a club song :D) 10. X Marks The Spot (Good track, very experimental of the track to try out hip-hop, awesome vocoder effect, CM's vocals fit the hip-hop theme perfectly, and a solid hip-hop track, the lyrics are MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better than most hip-hop tracks, but as a Coldplay track the lyrics suck, song overall isn't very strong, one of Coldplay's worst songs, yet it's stil a good track, this could have been left as a b-side. No reason to even make it a hidden track.) Holy! I actually managed to make concise yet complete reviews! Imagine that!! :D Last three got a little long, but that's just my natural tendency when I review something... :D EDIT: Oh yeah, there's 10 full songs on the album, not 9... sorry about that Army Of One XD

Parachutes vs A Head Full Of Dreams
Round 1: Don't Panic vs A Head Full Of Dreams (Close) Round 2: Shiver vs Birds Round 3:Spies vs Fun Round 4: Sparks vs Everglow (So close! I must admit.) Round 5: Yellow vs Hymn For The Weekend Round 6: Trouble vs Adventure Of A Lifetime Round 7: High Speed vs Army Of One (Making a Comeback!) Round 8: We Never Change vs Amazing Day Round 9: Everything's Not Lost vs Up&Up AHFOD: 6 Parachutes: 3 It's interesting, because I do this between differing albums all the time. Surprised I didn't come up with it earlier... :D

THE THIRD COLDPLAYVISION SONG CONTEST: THE CLASH OF THE ALBUMS
^ The game's over now, there was also a whole bunch of rule changes throughout so it's okay. But we're just waiting for the new thread...

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Check the Wikipedia page, there's "A Man for All Seasons (Still Goin' Strong)" "All Good Things Come To An End" (sounds interesting) "Autodance" (.... you can tell what that would have turned into)... I'm no Coldplay geek or anything but I haven't seen those names... EDIT: Seems like the first one was for Game of Thrones I think, the second one was an unreleased song with Nelly Furtado, and Autodance.... I have no idea but it's on the Wikipedia page "List of songs recorded".
-
LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Apparently "4 Bar Jazz Blues Improvisation" was registered in ASCAP. Apparently meant for AHFOD... anyone else heard of this? It's interesting, because judging from the title they actually did try even more different genres.

Guess the song being played!
I agree, Oceans is one of those songs that fits so well with the electronic drumbeat. I also really like the sound of the electronic drum as well, fits so perfectly, and it's a sound you don't hear played with very often.
-
Guess the song being played!
Yeah, the live version has real drums, which is certainly interestong considering it's EDM. ASFOS IMO is really good studio version but if you put on the live version then listen to the studio version, the studio version's only okay compared to that one lol. Live version sounds so much more open, and energetic. I like the real drums as well, hit's the snare on the second beat which gives it a much better feel to it.
-
Guess the song being played!
Well actually all of them lol which is sad... it was a sudden change from 8/10 time real drums in MX and VLV... now he's gone 100% electronic drums in GS, only one from that era that's not electronic drums is MAYBE Ghost Story but I'm not even sure about that one. At least it's better in AHFOD, with the title track being mostly real drums, AOAL, Army Of One, and some of Amazing Day. He might be reverting to real drums most of the time again soon. :D Since at it's more rare in GS, it's backward trent now in AHFOD. IMO Everglow deserved real drums, so as some of Up&Up. And all of Amazing Day deserved real drums too. That'd bring it to like 6 songs which is more than half the album, but it's a little lower now. I think it'll get better though... hopefully

X Marks The Spot [HIDDEN TRACK]
Sorry, but this is a great hip hop song. Way better than most hip hop out there.
-
Why do I dislike AHFOD so much?
Sorry but the "they're nothing much more than a Beats promoting commercial vehicle" thing is wrong. As for the other stuff, well Twisted Logic hinted at this. Maybe they're going backwards right now, but then they're going forwards again soon, but then backwards again, then forwards, then... You get the point :D
-
Why do I dislike AHFOD so much?
I really do agree here though. LOL

Why do I dislike AHFOD so much?
Are you Chris Martin? Your responses seem to come from him. Minus the last part. lol

[The Telegraph intv.] Coldplay: 'Rock music has nowhere left to go’
I must agree. The further back you go the better it gets. Now pop is turning to unlistenable pop trash. To be honest I enjoyed some pop back in 2010-2013. Now it's only good, okay to me. And some (most) pop songs today are utter trash.
