  1. Yeah thats why I earn more. They usually expect you to have experience in retail which I don't have. I'm off now, need to get ready for work. Bye everyone!
  2. Sorry for the late reply, I was having dinner. I quite like my job. I can earn a lot more than I did when I worked in an office if its busy. Good luck with that! I've given my CV to a few CD stores as well but they never got back to me.
  3. I'm a student but I work in a bar over the summer. I've also got an interview at the Liverpool FC store this week. Same here, doesn't really feel like summer. Oh hope you feel better soon!
  4. Good. The weather was nice for once and it was Carnival here in Liverpool. I'm back in work tonight though.:( How was yours?
  5. No, I didn't think you did. I meant the mods you were talking about. Thing is they don't have to be neutral. I know that mods are not allowed to argue on other messageboards but the practice is different on here whether we like it or not.
  6. It doesn't really make a difference if you name people or not, everyone knows who you are talking about anyway. I'm all for harmony but all this thread does is stir up the same old arguments.:\
  7. Dunno I once met a guy that I really liked who was like 15 years older than me. I couldn't see myself in a serious relationship with him though, it just seemed wrong somehow. The fact that he already had kids from a previous relationship who were relatively old certainly didn't help.
  8. Chocolate
  9. I'm glad I never had to share a room with someone. It must be difficult even if you really like the person. Shared bathrooms/ kitchens are a nightmare. I've never lived in halls, shared houses were bad enough tbh. Some of my housemates in first year left their dishes for days. I also bought a set a cutlery/ plates when I started uni and most of them disappeared within a month.
  10. Most Britons who live abroad don't try to integrate either.
  11. Thanks! I'm relieved, I was looking for work for nearly two months. If it goes well next week, I'll be working full-time soon. Hi Dave!
  12. Hi Crests of Daylight. What's your name?
  13. I'm good. Finally found a part-time job and I've got another interview next week.
  14. Hello! How's everyone doing?
  15. I think German's quite similar to English. I believe it's very difficult if you learn it as a foreign language though. I'm gonna be an teaching assistant soon so I should be able to answer your questions.
  16. I've got a MacBook Pro. Intel Core 2 Duo 2GB Memory 160GB hard drive SD card slot Built-in 7-hour battery NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics (Information copied from Apple's website because I had no idea.)
  17. I'd have no issues with going out with someone who is older than me. Everything up to six years seems fine. I don't think I'd date someone who is more than two years younger but it all depends on the person really. My boyfriend's the same age as me.
  18. Women still aren't equal, so yes, there are still things to fight for. I don't quite get your point though.
  19. I'm not a feminist but I disagree that they are fighting for inequality. Women still get paid less than men on average and there's still less women in influential positions.
  20. Are you suggesting that only men can get decent jobs? Just because it has been like that in the past doesn't mean it's right. There is no reason why it has to be the mother who stays at home these days. There are plenty of men out there who understand that women want to have a life too.
  21. Josh, I feel sorry for your girlfriend (if you have one). Don't you realise that men are capable of looking after their children?
  22. I see. Never been there so I can't comment. I think Liverpool's a nice place to live. It isn't a massive city so there isn't always something interesting going on but the nightlife's decent and people are generally very friendly. The bad thing is that it's a rather poor city and that there aren't a lot of job opportunities. I'd give it 8/10
