Which color/flavor do you think tries to represent each Viva La Vida Song?
Yes is dark red. DAAHF is dark blue. Lovers in Japan is green and white. Viva la Vida is orange/yellow. Violet Hill is WHITE! hehe Strawberry Swing is brown.

The Official Opinions about the new album thread
I feel like Viva la Vida is out of place. I'm not sure why, but it just does for some reason.

Death and all his friends/The Escapist (song ) review
This is one of my favorites from the album (maybe even 2nd favorite, but 42 and Yes and Cemeteries of London are all bouncing around in my top 3). When the heaviness comes in...I get shivers. Best album closer since Amsterdam.

Post here if you actually LOVE the whole album !!!...
Chinese Sleep Chant is the only song I'm not that big a fan of, but still, it's attached to Yes, AND I LOVE YES! There's just so many good songs...I can't talk about all of them because I'm beyond words with praise. :D After hearing ASARY I was worried they'd sound like U2. Apparently, I was wrong and gladly so.

A Rush Of Blood To The Head officially better than Viva La Vida
It's hard to say right now, but I know that Viva is better than X&Y, possibly even Parachutes. A Rush of Blood to the Head is my absolute favorite album, but so far Viva doesn't seem to have any mediocre songs. They're all spectacular. Even Violet Hill seems to be that much better when played in the context of the album.

Update: NOW which Viva La Vida song is the best?
The album version of Lovers in Japan is pretty incredible, but I have yet to hear the whole thing.

Viva La Vida Checklist: How many have leaked?
I'm gonna throw it out there and say that Viva la Vida is probably only partially leaked. After all, the version everyone has is quite clearly labeled "New Edit" Perhaps the album version is longer?

In Rainbows = Music for Insomnia?
Mezzanine by Massive Attack is my anti-insomnia. It never fails. Even when I'm more than half way through and I'm convinced it's not working, I often wake up hours later to discover that it did work.

Violet Hill Music Video
Which one? I like the political one much better than the other. I'm all for having fun, but it's not something that anyone's going to remember in a few years. I wish they would have been a little more creative with the original. The political one blends more with the lyrics and seems a bit more powerful.

COLDPLAY.COM UPDATED - CONTESTS REVEALED
There's almost 400 posts in here so I hope this hasn't been said but: Anyone notice the mosaic that's being revealed is the very very low resolution picture from the website template that was next to the "artwork revealed" link?

Something Interesting About VLV...
Makes me think of The Hardest Part. Only the lyrics are a billion times better. Hell, even the music is a billion times better. Conclusion: Viva la Vida >>>>>> The Hardest Part

Viva la Vida (song) = Beautiful...?
Oh Oh Oh Ohhhhhhhhhh! Love it :D I do feel like it will be longer though. After all, this is the "New Edit" and most likely not the album version.

Trent Reznor pulls a 'Radiohead'
The Four of Us Are Dying is incredible, as is Demon Seed. I have to let this album grow on me more though.

Death Cab For Cutie!
Grapevine Fires is one of the best songs I've heard in a while. EDIT: Let me ammend this. Gravevine Fires IS the best song I've heard in a while. And about the novelty, sure there is some when the album comes out, but the way novelty works for me is that I just get used to the music. This song has such haunting lyrics tied with such chilling music. Together they deliver an effect I don't think will ever get old.

A Spell A Rebel Yell isn't that good...
The only thing that bothers me about this song is that they're not being Coldplay, they're being U2, albeit 20 years late. I find nothing Coldplayish about it. As far as I can tell, the only band member involved in it is Chris. What happened to the instrumentals that made songs like Amsterdam and Shiver so great? Then again, I could say the same for Radiohead in their transition to Kid A. However, Radiohead did it already almost 10 years ago. If Coldplay's trying to do the same thing, then they're trying to be Radiohead too, though this time it's 10 years late.

A Spell A Rebel Yell
What the hell? I found myself singing the lyrics to Mothers of the Disappeared during this song... yeah, it is that similar. Hmm. I know it's different, but seriously, what's going on here? It's barely got any melody. Chris's vocals are lost beneath whatever that is.

The Quest for the Stanley Cup 2008
4OT? Geez. Anyone know what time the game ended last night? I stayed up to watch until the end of regulation but went to sleep because I had a final at 8AM. I'm glad I didn't stay for the whole thing...

Trent Reznor pulls a 'Radiohead'
The Slip (2008) Download it FOR FREE! I downloaded it earlier, but I had a final exam this morning, so I didn't get to listen to it until now. Good stuff, very minimalist.

Seems there's 2 more Ghosts (37 and 38) out there, as well as a new single "Echoplex." Tomorrow's the big day!
