  1. I think its really good. I'm sure most people know what you're talking about.
  2. Hmmmm, Stars in Kingston Ontario John Mayer and John Mayer Trio (I've seen JM twice and the trio once) all great shows Norah Jones Kanye (unbelievable energy) K-Os
  3. Does anyone have an audio for "Atlantic" ? And have other songs, aside from "Is it any wonder" leaked from the album?
  4. Yeah Desecration Smile is great, and I also think that Animal Bar could be a single. I love the synths that run through it. they give the song an 80's-like feel, and its just all around great. Stadium Arcadium is also crazyyyyyyy and so is Tell Me Baby. God, like I've said in this thread numerous times, the album is just stacked. Its an instant classic. Perhaps one of the last pieces of work we'll get from RHCP ever, so I encourage you all to get it, enjoy it, and cherish it!
  5. I'm positive that Snow ((Hey Oh)) is going to be a single, and go down as one of their all time great tracks. Its sooooooooooooooo good!
  6. I was really surprised to see this thread - while browsing the forum, I was (and still am) listening to Matt Costa's album "Songs We Sing". Its a great album all around. Folky, acoustic, and poppy from track to track. Coldplay fans will generally enjoy and appreciate: Cold December Astair Darling Be Home Soon Sunshine Ballad Of Miss Kate Sweet Rose (Beatles Cover) Matt has been getting really big recently. A lot of it is thanks to Jack Johnson, who has taken him on tour through the US, major American Festivals, and Europe. Also, being featured on Jack Johson's DVD "Weekend at the Greek" was a big break for Matt. That's how I first found out about him and I encourage you all to check out the featurette on him. It has a little interview, and a performance of Sunshine with Jack, as well as a solo acoustic performance of Astair. You should also check out the AOL sessions video of Matt and Jack playing "Lullaby Song" - its quite nice. I was equally surprised to be walking through HMV today, and to see that Matt was listed as one of their "featured artists". I'm really glad he's getting exposed, and am sure that he'll blow-up just as JJ did under Ben Harper's wing. I'm also going to be seeing him soon too! He's making two stops in Toronto this summer. Playing with "The 88" in May, and he's coming back in July. I'm going to the July show, and I'll let all fans on this forum know how it was!
  7. Haha, i know Flea doesn't want us to. But I already did before Flea had said that. So its too late for me. In any case, I'm going to buy the double album after it comes out anyway!!
  8. yeah so i started a thread on this accidentally. I'm glad others are sharing the disgust that I have for the whole situation. booo emi sucks. lol
  9. I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere on the site, but as far as I've been able to see it hasn't. I was really dissapointed to read that EMI had once again swooped in, and used their corporate power to limit artistic creation and expression. It has been reported that the album closer for Nelly's new album, called "All Good Things", which featured Chris Martin (as previously reported on this site), has been pulled at the last minute. Here is a link to an article which describes the situation: http://www.entertainmentwise.com/news?id=16449 I'm fairly dissapointed if this is true, and it seems to be.
  10. Hint: Go to http://www.torrent-finder.com and search for "Stadium Arcadium".
  11. Red Hot Chili Peppers New Album If anyone on this board is already a fan of the chili peppers, you are going to love this new double album. And if you aren't really a fan, or haven't heard their music before, now would be a good time to start listening. Stadium Arcadium is fantastic, and its being released on May 9th in America, May 8th in UK. There will be a leak on VH1 tomorrow. But, as is the case with all albums of the day, it has already leaked. Look for the torrent, and grab it while its still up. The album is the band's first in 4 years, and its actually a double album. One of the discs is called Mars, and the other Jupiter. Tracks to check out: Snow (Hey Oh) Tell Me Baby 21st Century Stadium Arcadium Desecration Smile Death of a Martian I encourage you all to check it out.

There new album has been leaked for a few months now. If anyone wants it let me know in PM. It's really good. Check out "Into the West" best song on the album imo!
  13. If you like KT you should listen to "Tracks in July". Its mostly all acoustic and basically just great songs. From what I understand its quite rare, and is a compilation of all her unreleased songs from before "Eye to the Telescope". You can probably do some searching and fint it in its entirety. If you havent, pm me and I can upload it for you. 15. Wow this generated quite a bit of discussion. Well I have a few thoughts about what I've read. First of all, its usually a record label decision about what formats a single will be released on. EMI decided to make THP radio only, and this actually benefits them if you think about it. Producing vinals and CDs of a single is costly, and the distribution and carrying costs of vendors is also high, therefore, making it radio only allows for the song to get exposure while foregoing those costs. Today, singles aren't released with the intention of selling massive numbers and making money. Singles are used to promote the album. Therefore, Talk, Fix You and THP are all leading to higher sales of X&Y. X&Y's highest sales were in its first month, and the next peak was after the release of Fix You, followed by a smaller peak after Talk, and now, what will soon be an even smaller peak, with THP. Singles alone are not meant to generate profits. They are merely collectors items now, and the number of copies sold, along with the increase in sales of the actual record (X&Y in this case) allows the company to break even/make a buck. Furthermore, the band decides whether they want b-sides on a single or not, and if so, what b-sides there will be. These are meant to be a treat for fans. In this case, EMI probably realized that it wasn't financially sound to produce multi-format copies of THP single, but they probably felt there is still potential to juice X&Y a bit more. They probably pitched the idea to the band, and the band seems to want to keep most of their unreleased material from x&Y sessions secret until their next album, so it worked for them too. this is how i see the whole thing at least.
  16. phenomena is great! sorry guys my uploading of the album didnt work! i'll try something else ...
  17. Am I the only person who doesn't understand this? I mean I know a lot of people will say stuff like "because the song sucks .." etc... but realistically its a single, and typically they've always played their singles, especially during the tour of the album from which the single is released. I find it wierd that they have stayed away from playing it this whole tour (aside from the occasional encore set) and that they haven't promoted it like they did for their other 3. When Speed of Sound, Fix You and Talk came out, we constantly saw them playing the songs on TV and at award shows etc... Their two most recent award shows have had them play Square One and Talk. Do you think its because maybe the band isn't happy with the song, and didn't want it as a single, but it was more a record label decision? I remember reading at the time of the release of X&Y that they didn't feel too too strongly about THP, and that to them it was just a happy go lucky tune that was one of their last picks for the album.
  18. I've gotten to see them 3 times over the past year in Toronto, and each time they've been better. So you have that to look forward to. Plus their setlists are much longer compared to AROBTTH Tour days. The only thing that I'd like to see is them change it up a bit more. They seem to have settled into a "winnning" formula. I'd like a return to the unexpected in Coldplay!
  19. Its a really good album, I think better than their first. Some of the songs have an Arcade Fire feel. I'm uploading it on rapidshare, link should be up soon!
  20. I don't know if most Indie bands would like to be likened to Coldplay, though I think the comments are at least somewhat accurate. But groups like the Arcade Fire? I don't know if I see that comparison. In what sense is Arcade Fire like Coldplay, aside from their "musical intensity" ?
  21. I agree black and white is good. I would start the video with a close up the central character's eye. Cut to the lips of the person as they mouth the words. Zoom out, and keep the image out of focus so that it appears blurry, but you can make out what is there. you would have the central character sitting on a chair, in a totally empty grey looking room. By the end of the first verse, they get up and walk out of the room. The door opens and right outside the room is an extremely busy street. Picture like times square or something. All the people are still blurry, but the commodities and brand names and signs are clear. the main character walks through crowds of people as they bump into him. He is walking in the opposite direction of everyone else. Eventually he falls, in the crowd, and the last shot is him looking up at a blurry sky. He opens his eyes and sees the sky again, except this time he gets up and is in the middle of an open plain. In the distance he sees a person, who gets clearer and clearer as he gets nearer to her. She is in color. And as the last chorus starts (with the piano) he is running towards her, and just as he arrives and reaches out to her, the sudden end of the song arrives as he tries to touch her and realizes there is no one there, and looks up at the world in black and white again, alone in the middle of the field, with a strong gust of wind heard in the background. and it ends there. obviously you'll be on a limited budget, so you can't really create the effects as I stated them (especially the color to black and white) but that's my idea anyways ...
  22. They might be saving Ladder to the Sun for the fourth album it seems. Chris mentioned that they regretted leaving some of the songs they recorded during the X&Y sessions off the album, and would be releasing them in their next album. One of the songs they regretted leaving off was How You See the World, which will not be on the next one. But Ladder to the Sun very well could be, and we know that many people who have heard the studio version have told the band that it is fantastic!
  23. None of the other versions have ever been leaked.
