I don't think they should necessarily record a better version of the same track, I don't think they're very proud of it, and I have a feeling that is especially because of the lyrics. Maybe if they changed the lyrics on it, and used the same instrumentation it would be cool. But I think I'd rather just have it stay the way it is, it just feels more rare and cool. I'm surprised that so many people feel that Ode sounds totally different from the Coldplay they know. To me the sound they have in the song is very much fitting with their style during the Safety EP time, with songs like Such a Rush (as mentioned), No More Keeping My Feet On The Ground and Bigger Stronger. You can also see a natural progression from those tracks into one's on Parachutes, like High Speed, or the Blue Room EP version of Don't Panic. In any case, I was really taken aback by how good the song actually was, just becaues the band had constantly said it was bad !
  2. I think it'll either be White Shadows or Swallowed in the Sea
  3. I don't understand Spanish very well, but I believe you're asking when they will be in South America. I heard it was after they rap up the Australian tour, so that will be into the summer (July August). Hope this helps!
  4. In Canada, on MuchMusic I've seen it quite a few times ... So I wouldn't say that Coldplay and X&Y hasn't gotten much support from all of North America! Canada still loves Coldplay !!
  5. I have a feeling - or rather maybe just a hope - that when Johnny spoke about having filmed their concert for the DVD he may have been referring to one concert that they had filmed for it - in other words, the DVD this time around might not just be one concert, it may have two. If you look at what other artists' live DVDs are like (such as Jack Johnson and Franz Ferdinand) they feature a lot more concert footage from mulitple concerts, with different sets, and a lot of behind the scenes and bonus features stuff too. I think that the new DVD will have a lot more stuff like this. The Twisted Logic Tour has generally been a lot better documented. From the Tour Diaries it seems like a lot of back stage and sound check stuff was recorded, as well as off-days where the guys spent time with friends from other bands like the Arcade Fire etc... I think it would be sooooo great if the new Coldplay DVD was the following: Disc 1: Documentary style, clips with the guys and friends during the first leg of the tour (in America or Europe) intertwined with concert footage (very much like the Jack Johnson live at the greek DVD). Disc 2: Footage from second leg of the tour, either America, Australia or South America. Bunch of bonus features, like spontaneous song playing back stage and on rest days, and the guys in the studio recording new stuff (like How You See the World 2, Sleeping Sun and other songs)... anyways, thats just my ideal DVD for the Twisted Logic Tour!
  6. I really really hope that it's a B-Side to the hypothetical 4th single as well, and if not, maybe one day we'll hear it in a Coldplay box set or something! With all their bsides and EPs it seems to me like they already have enough material for a box set so I really hope that they wouldn't cut a song like Ladder to the Sun from that as well!! :(
  7. Good topic! very tough one to vote on however ........ I like the Talk single most, but thats probably because its newest. I would rank them in the following order (my most favorite ones): 1. Talk Single 2. Clocks Single 3. Scientist Single 4. Shiver 5. Yellow 6. Brothers and Sisters
  8. Easy to Please! "take us or leave us"
  9. There's more synth and instrumentation in Gravity than Proof, and Chris' voice is much higher throughout Proof than it is in Gravity. He's in his falsetto range throughout the song, which gives it a different song.
  10. Those are all good songs, however, like you say, since Moses was released on the Live 2003 DVD I don't think it's very likely that we'll hear a studio recording of it as a b-side on a X&Y single ... maybe one day we'll hear it in a box set though or something ... I absolutely love Ladder to the Sun, I think its amazing!! and I would be so excited if it was released as a B-Side to the next single. I don't think the guys liked Idiot too much. I remember reading somewhere that they weren't that happy with the song, so if it is released it will be a significantly re-vamped version (but I think they kind of abandonned the song ...). Solid Ground, just like Ladder to the Sun, would be amazing! i hope they release it! I really want to hear it with the full brass band! Chris made it sound as if it was going to be of epic proportions! They usually tend to release B-Sides as a contrast to the single, i.e. if the single is a heavy stadium rocker (such as Talk) the b-sides are slower tempo, or ballads (like Sleeping Sun and Gravity). In contrast slower singles are accompanied by rockier, faster tracks: Scientist (I Ran Away, 1.36), Fix You (Pour Me, The Worlds Turned). Basically, based on people's predictions, the next single off X&Y (and probably the last) will be White Shadows, Low, Square One or Swallowed in the Sea. If it is Swallowed in the Sea, then the b-sides will probably be Sweet Marianne, Ladder to the Sun or the new rocky song they worked on while on tour in America. For any of the former three songs as singles, I think the b-sides could be, Solid Ground, Ladder to the Sun and/or a piano/acoustic version of one of the songs from AROBTTH (like how they did with Yellow for the final single of AROBTTH). anyways, long post, but there you go!
  11. The lyrics are different, and the live version that is commonly distributed only features Chris singing and playing the piano. While it is rumored that another version of the track exists with the whole band playing, it doesn't seem to be very common. But anyway, those are the two big differences I guess...
  12. I think they're heading in the direction of more heavy songs like "Low" and "Square One" but that they'll still have slower ballad type songs, but with a more electronic influence and sound, kind of like Chris' work with Faultline (songs like "Where is My Boy" and "Your Love Means Everything").
  13. I was listening to all the true b-sides from the 3 albums to date and my favorites / ranking for them is as follows (btw you should try ranking them too, its actually unbelievably hard): 1. Crest of Waves 2. Gravity 3. I Ran Away 4. For You 5. I bloom blaum 6. Sleeping Sun 7. The World Turned 8. Help Is Around the Corner 9. Careful Where You Stand 10. Proof 11. Murder 12. Tie: Bigger Stronger, Animals 13. Tie: Only Superstition, No More Keeping My Feet On the Ground 14. Easy to Please 15. Tie: Pour Me (Live), 1.36 16. One I Love 17. Things I Don't Understand 18. You Only Live Twice (Live) ooof ... I probably changed my mind five times while writing those lol
  14. 1. Square One 2. Gravity 3. White Shadows 4. Fix You 5. Speed of Sound 6. The Hardest Part 7. X & Y 8. How You See The World 9. Talk 10. Sleeping Sun 11. Swallowed In The Sea 12. Low 13. Twisted Logic Bonus Track: Till Kingdom Come Singles: Speed of Sound (Things I don't understand; Proof) Fix You (The Worlds Turned) Talk (What If; A Message)
  15. well "new" versions will be worth like 4 times the value if not more. but opened ones are still great to have!

Well from another thread, according to these articles that cpf235 found: "Also, we all know there will be a fourth Major release from Coldplay (all things going well), but it seems all these sites know the title and release date! Hoax or Mistakes? http://www.mp3.com/coldplay/artists/400938/discography.html&flag=major http://music.aol.com/artist/main.adp?tab=album&artistid=435023&albumid=814877 http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/coldplay/1190057/album.jhtml http://www.mtv.com/bands/az/coldplay/discography.jhtml http://shopping.yahoo.com/p:Love%2C%20Actually:1922312895;_ylt=A9htdfeopp1DLu0AfQBUvQcF;_ylu=X3oDMTBzZTVhM3RqBF9zAzk1OTUxMTEzBGx0AzQEc2VjA2FydHByb2Q- http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/store/artist/album/0,,3513781,00.html " the new release will be out at the end of january!! lol, but I don't believe it ... I don't know what all those are about anyways ...
  17. The one on the Fix You single is titled "Pour Me" and it was recorded live at the Hollywood Bowl during the Rush of Blood Tour. Prior to the single people just assumed it was called "Poor Me" and still other renditions of the song are tagged as "Poor Me". As for this "new album" that seems really wierd ... I'm surprised that its being reported on so many sites with the same information. Exact same title and release date on all 6 sites you posted .... "Love, Actually" doesn't sound like the title that Coldplay would typically use for an album of their's. And more importantly, as far as we've heard they have not worked on much new material in the studio recently. They're still touring X&Y and so releasing a new album now with no promotion etc... would be a bit strange. I say hoax if its being called a totally new album, but that its possibly a release with some coldplay tracks on it ...
  18. A lot of people have been saying that this should have been on the album, but I don't think it was part of the X&Y Sessions .... I believe it was recorded after. During their American tour they worked on a few new songs. I remember reading that one was soft and the other loud (something like that) in the tour diary. This is probably the "soft" one! Can't wait for the loud lol Anyone know when it was actually recorded?
  19. I think the only track out of all their albums that they haven't played live yet is Twisted Logic - correct me if I'm wrong on that, but I think its the case!
  20. You can easily find Things I Don't Understand, Proof, Pour Me (Live from Hollywood Bowl), and The Worlds Turned. How You See The World has 2 versions, one of which was a Bonus track on the Japanese release of the album, pretty easy to find, the other which was released on charity albums (can be bought on the War Child site, or iTunes). Sleeping Sun and Gravity (studio) are not out yet (Dec 19th!)
  21. I don't think that any are really rare, but they're not hugely common either. You'll find that outside Europe it's quite tough to get a lot of those, and in North America some are kind of rare actually. Bloom Room EP, Brothers and Sisters EP are old and are good pieces to have. I would say if you're going to get two of any of those, get two of those two releases! Speed of Sound and Fix You weren't widely released in North America, so if you found'em then I'd say they're keepers. You might want to grab two of those as well. The GPASUYF single wasn't released in the US so I would get that if I were you. As far as I know, the only stuff with multiple versions on your list is the Bloom Room EP (i think there's two) and the Brothers and Sisters EP (also 2) - someone may want to verify this for me?!. Hope that helps!
  22. Twisted Logic, Swallowed in the Sea, Life is for Living (Live), and AROBTTH
  23. Some songs you'll probably hear though are: Square One Politik Yellow God Put a Smile Upon Your Face Speed of Sound (How You See The World 2) The Scientist Till Kingdom Come (Ring of Fire) (Twist of Fate) Clocks Talk In My Place Fix You The ones in brackets are just my guesses, the others are the songs they've played most frequently and that I don't think they'd remove from the set-list. Stuff I hope they play in the new tour though: Twisted Logic Life is For Living Sleeping Sun Gravity The World Turned hmmm there's other songs too, I just can't think of them right now
