My music player (WMP) lists Will Champion as the composer. I'd thought that this was Chris's song. But Will has some good songwriting talent.

It is surprising somewhat, but I hope Noel ends up doing solo stuff. He's very inspiring to me. Great singer and brilliant songwriter... I really don't see how Oasis can go on as a band w/o Noel.

Beware... There is a youtube video that is somewhat popular about this. The problem with the youtube video, is the AUDIO has been edited so the songs match. In the video, VLV's pitch has been raised a 1/2 step. And the Joe "I've never heard of this guy" Satriani's song has been lowered just to match the Coldplay ballad. The problem with it is it creates a perception of right-out theft... When listened to the actual songs, they are about 5 half Steps apart from each other. Hopefully this lawsuit gets thrown out. And they aren't even exactly alike. It would be like if Paul McCartney sued Oasis for using a similar tune/lyrics at the beginning of "Fade Away" as "Help." Just ridiculous. The easiest defense for Coldplay would have Kraftwerks come in and testify.

I pre-ordered it off of Amazon. I ordered the UK import... Yeah, it was 2wice the cost, but I want the right CD cover. But I guess I don't have to worry about if I get it or not. I took the 2 day shipping, and said it would be here the 28th...the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday...I work in retail, so I probably wouldn't be able to listen to it until that night at the earliest).

I've played guitar for about 7 years now, but I've never been very good at picking strings individually. Dashboard Confessional has a few good songs that I have done pretty good with... "Standard Lines," "Age Six Racer," and "End of an Anchor."

Keep the Dream Alive - Oasis

For the most part I like 'Dig Out Your Soul.' I do think it would have been much stronger, and would have benefited w/'Stop the Clocks' and 'I Wanna live a Dream' IMO. Despite that, It doesn't change the fact that Noel Gallagher is a genius songwriter. Anyway..."I'm Outta Time," "Shock of the Lightning," "Ain't Got Nothing," "The Turning," and "Falling Down" are really good sounding tracks.

I have one...but I don't have many uses for it...I had to look it up, but it is called a "feedback buster"

I hear it too. Another one, it's funny: In the ending of "The Masterplan," you can hear Liam saying "I'd like to be under the sea, in the Octopus' garden in the shade." real fast...it is hilarious.

Ok, so I bought the album at WalMart...and ripped it to my PC. On iTunes, it mentioned a Bonus Track (Lost Acoustic) ...and as far as I knew, it wasn't on my CD. Well anyway, I go look in "My Music\Coldplay\VLV\" and there it is...Lost Acoustic...I just don't have a clue in the world how it got there. As far as I know, I'm the only person in my family that is even a big CP fan. Don't get me wrong...I love the fact it is there...I just don't have a clue how it got there. I looked at the file details, and My files say they were created on "June 19th" but the Lost Acoustic was created on "June 29" ...so, 10 days later. I never saw it there till today. But I haven't listened to the album much on my PC since then. Was the Lost Acoustic exclusive to iTunes? Or does my PC have a mind of its own, and have great musical taste? Thanks in advance.

A lot of Oasis Songs are easy to play too.

Not a big fan of Yes...but mainly CSC. Everything else I don't mind listening all the way through...the rest of it is pretty awesome.

You should seek out the Yellow recordings where it is just Chris and Piano...and he plays it slower...sounds so pretty.

I know Chris is quite modest when it comes to his piano playing...but there isn't any piano on the album that I now think he didn't play...Many bands aren't able to mix in a piano in their songs and make it sound so good as Chris Martin or Ben Folds. The album is very heavy on the instrumentals/synths, effects, etc...but Chris is a lot better at piano, guitar, etc more than he'll ever give himself credit for.

I absolutely love the ending lyrics and tune...makes me feel so happy. "The sky could be blue. I don't mind. Without you it's a waste of time." AWESOME!
