Better "Best British Bands" Thread
sorry but the list of acts is pretty dire...! Thank god for Radiohead. Zeppelin, Floyd and the Stones should all have their own slot. Keane? Travis? Spice Girls...?!? Think about what you've omitted in favour of those three!! :stunned:

POST YOUR FAV PICS OF COLDPLAY

An idea about Talk...
 Because a writer's personal life never spills over to their work. came out wrong...I meant the music, a lot of the time I usually don' care about the lyrics...may seem silly but I'm more of an instrumental person...so own THAT. :smug: ....man, I am SO pleased you guys have that smiley here!!

"Low" is the Highlight of X & Y
Oddly enough I think it's actually a near-perfect album except for Speed of Sound and the new Talk, but I just haven't listened to 'Parachutes' of 'A Rush of Blood...' in quite a while, so that'll explain why I don't agree...;)

Things you don't like about X&Y
The lyrics. It sounds so much like Chris Martin has just gone 'Hmm...what rhymes with that? The first thing that pops into my head...' on some of the tracks. I don't like the way the vocals are sung in the first part of 'X&Y', lines like "When something's broken and you try to fix it" make me cringe because at the end of each line he just drags on the note for another syllable EACH time and I HATE it when songs do that!

X or Y?
I voted + since it's too hard to choose! :stunned: Y has Speed of Sound... :sneaky: which I really don't like and X has the new version of Talk. :sneaky: With the old version of Talk I think X would have made the perfect record. But it has the new one so they are still stuck neck and neck...and people do say 'Proof' should have been on the Y record, but I still need to hear it so I'll comment on that later...

"Talk" - which version?
Hello Azor! Recognise you from interference...

"Low" is the Highlight of X & Y
Yes, because you pay to get to the front row...(!) I had gathered my funds for my ticket quite a while before X&Y was released and by the time X&Y DID come out, I had no money to buy it.

Happy Slapping
Damn, 'Happy Slapping' sucks...HOWEVER, I found it funny to watch a phone video of my friend approaching another one of my friends, before slapping him and running off...I think there's something about it that's okay with that since they know each other and are just joking around after watching that Trevor McDonald Documentary...

Glastonbury 2005 - A poor performance?
Hahaha! Your opinion, of course! It sounded pretty good to me in the front row! ;) I honestly heard nothing wrong. It was much better than i expected!

What are you addicted to?
- "Low" is the Highlight of X & Y
I was standing at the very front of Coldplay's, quite simply, awe-inspring Glastonbury 2005 set and was yet to buy 'X+Y' due to difficulties financially etc...and I heard 'Low' for the first time there and then and I was blown away! Definitely one of their best! I wish they'd write more like it! Totally different to the rest of the album!- An idea about Talk...
I try to think more of the song than the singer's personal life to be honest- maybe this has been discussed before....
Mmm, I listened to this album for the first time in nearly a year today and his voice sounds SO different!! I'd love to hear him sing 'High Speed' now...!! :stunned: after that I listened to some of the early EPs and I was REALLY surprised how he's changed...- Guy has a kid?!
Aww...come on! R&H isn't that bad! Hawkmoon and Angel of Harlem make up for any of its shortcomings. :D Haha! Yes! The studio material on there is absolutely fine. It's the main four singles I've just heard far too much, except 'All I want is You'. 'Heartland'...now THERE'S a track!!- i just found out...
and you would have paid money to help the charity.......right...? RIGHT?- U2 sheet music?
Aargh! :stunned: Well I'd avoid interference if you can't navigate your way around! :/ I think I'm just used to it! Good luck finding the sheet music! :)- how many kids do you want?
none at the moment...I'm far too old/young...and kids are bloody terrible...- What is the worst "hit" song you have ever heard?
The Cheeky Girls, DJ Otzi - Hey Baby, Las Ketchup - The Ketchup Song,- Radiohead
Go- The Bends AND OK Computer. followed by Kid A AND Amnesiac. Like someone said you'll appreciate them for their progression. You've got four of the finest albums ever commited to tape there, you can't go wrong! Amnesiac on the other hand is far from leftovers of Kid A. They just felt out of around forty tracks they recorded, those they selected for Kid A made a great album and the ones they selected for Amnesiac followed a different sort of mood, etc. Good choice, in my opinion, better than them both being a double album, anyway! :stunned:- Just Someone trying to make a buck!
ZING!- Guy has a kid?!
What the...?! I can't believe this...I just read that quote about Guy...Jonny's favourite album is 'RATTLE AND HUM' ?!?- Radiohead
oh dear GOD! That's what it does!! Sorry about that...I kept clicking that blue button expecting to be taken to a page or something to do with quoting/editing whatever, but nothing happened...so it turns out now it's more like a silent alarm you get in a bank...! :stunned: so yeah, sorry...- "Talk" - which version?
Exactly. :/ - "Low" is the Highlight of X & Y
