Very dark and very adult, but always fun when Jack is around. :D I prefer the Sarah Jane Adventures- they're aimed at kids but really well done and lots of fun.

Vote for The Arcade Fire, guys! And Sigur Ros, and the Verve. We're being judged on the way the mix fits together, and since Radiohead, U2, The Beatles, and the Killers look like shoo-ins at this point, a band like Arcade Fire (or Sigur Ros) would balance out the others nicely. (Sorry for talking in this thread, but I think it needs to be said.)

You know, thinking about this, it's actually a perfect example. There are plenty of separatist Quebecois who would find it offensive to be called Canadian. But they are still Canadian as long as Quebec is part of Canada, and we're going to keep calling them Canadian for the sake of the country. We love them and don't want to leave- they'd take a part of our country's heart and soul with them if they left; they're such an integral part of who we are as a country. If they compete in the Olympics, they've still got a maple leaf on their uniform. Stepping on toes doesn't make the term Canadian any less applicable. And my main point is, to not call someone from say the east coast or the prairies Canadian for fear of upsetting separatists would be just plain madness. It is what we are, and most of us Canucks quite like the term. It's not about race, it's about national pride in all it's fractured, battered, multiethnic glory.

I do. I also find the vast majority of binge-drinking men offensive, and there's often far more of them and they're generally far more violent on a regular basis. Yet they're not being singled out. Last time I checked, the men and women drank together. I know the UK has a reputation for being a bit more over the top than here, but it can't be that different.
