The downsides of living in your country
^But even if you have good reason for everything you say, I've still never seen you not grumpy.... I mean, why even care? Why not move on? And to answer the thread question, it's too cold and dark here for too long. But hey, if that's the worst there is, life's good.

I've Been Away For A Week
Oh, sorry. Hi, I'm Mo. :D I've seen you grouching in so many threads lately I could have sworn we've spoken before. Any particular reason for the grumpiness?

I've Been Away For A Week
:laugh3: Yep, sometimes you can leave for a month and not miss a thing. Other times you leave for a day and come back to find the whole world changed. I'd say more interesting stuff happened around here in the last half a week than the last 4 or 5 months. Sorry. I'd say it's between that and The Hour for best Coldplay doc I've ever seen. Enjoy. *jealous* I've never been. Hope it was fun. The "Joy and Butterflies" crew? :flutterby: Funny how us random bystanders keep getting lumped into any given group. But at least he doesn't swear at me like you have been. :inquisitive:

Strawberry Swing video statement from Shynola
:laugh3: Pwned. :P Silly reason for it to exist, but that was amazing to see as a fan- It's one of the best descriptions I've seen of how all of the psychic junk floating around in an artist's or storyteller's head is drawn on and jumbled up and turned into something new and wonderful. Superman, Star Wars, The Simpsons, Miyazaki, Harryhausen, The Roadrunner, some random Youtube stuff, and of course that constantly on the retro videos on MuchMusic classic Sledgehammer- thousands if not millions of artists have all that stuff banging around in their head. Thousands of them will draw on all that stuff. Of course themes will repeat, they're all taking spoonfuls out of Tolkien's proverbial cultural stewpot and working within the limits of their medium. Yet no two results will be quite alike- each artist puts a little bit of their soul into the mix. I knew there was a reason I liked these Shynola guys. :nice:

Coldplaying Christmas 2009: Secret Santa - Post a pic if you already received a card :D
That's a wonderful idea :nice: It costs $1.50 to ship a postcard or basic envelope anywhere in the world from Canada. Should be similar for many other parts of the world. We could send letters or drawings if we want to send a bit more than a postcard. I'm in.

New Coldplay.com Layout
:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::dead: I can't believe anyone actually said that to them directly... :laugh3:
-
Been away, updates?!
Go to Coldplay.com. That should answer your question pretty well. :stunned: You can also check out the south bank show thread (great documentary) and any of the Wembley threads.

Mr Bossman would like to say a few words
Aw, I'm so jealous of all you guys. Wish I could have been there. Wonderful to hear you all had such a great time. And yes, this place is very special. :nice:

The Scientist ISN'T in the new Twilight movie soundtrack

Polaris Music Prize
Testing testing.... yes, we can hear you.... ^For the record I have this issue with throwing old cds I don't want away. I just can't. And yes, great HR publicity. But early early school tomorrow, so I'll bid you all goodnight. :escaping2:  edit: yeah, it's hardcore.

Polaris Music Prize
:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: Yeah, that would be almost exactly it for me too - soooo much Rankin Family. But I hated the Newsboys. But after I got out of highschool I started playing the early Tony Hawk games and got used to that style of music. There's still a Treble Charger album lurking at the bottom of one of my CD piles somewhere... "now I know how far you'll go...." Ah. :)

Polaris Music Prize
Well, I used to listen to more skater punk than I'd normally admit to once upon a time... so I'm not really new to the subgenre... it's just a matter of which subgenre exactly- I can't really tell the difference between some of them. Hey Lyric, (sorry I don't remember your name) if you don't mind my asking, where are you from?
-
Polaris Music Prize
Listened to a few of their songs. Yes, unusually good for hardcore or whatever it is. Can't take a whole album at once, normally.

Polaris Music Prize
F'd Up. There you go, Briggins.

Polaris Music Prize
Seeing all the musicians in fancy dress throwing junk at each other was funnier. :laugh3: I cannot believe that just happened.

Food fight!!!

Polaris Music Prize
CBC radio 3 is broadcasting it internationally? The last performer just finished. They should be announcing the result soon.
-
Polaris Music Prize
Well I've been rooting for Hey Rosetta! all along. I think they have a good chance, though anyone would be a good winner. F'd up? Really? What made you think that?
-
I was just thinking...
Well if in doubt use the EMI address. Just remember that they don't accept gifts and that (as I understand it) everything goes through Debs.
-
Polaris Music Prize
Now that was good. :nice: ^Hey nice. Wish I'd thought to get pictures when they signed my album. Oh well. Was that the jury walking out at the end when everyone cheered? Means they've made their decision.
-
I was just thinking...
Yeah, it's in the postcards thread... but I wouldn't use it till someone knows which one for sure.
-
I was just thinking...
The one for the postcards...
-
I was just thinking...
Aren't we supposed to use that mailing address Debs set up now? Those faqs don't mention that...

Polaris Music Prize
Getting nervous... just realized I've never seen or heard them recorded live before. Can it live up to being there?.... :uhoh:
