All the cool people are staying.
All the people who think they're cool are starving, but actually they're just scrawny losers who aren't very pleasant because they haven't had ice cream in way too long.

Why/where did Julie kill you?

If you don't go to bed, you won't have cool dreams. And then your brain won't have had time to rearrange itself for tomorrow so everything will seem wobbly and strange.

Holy crap you're up late! :stunned: It's 1:30 here... and you live what? 5 hours ahead of me? Mmmm.... foood. :D

All the cool people are leaving
Goodness... I know I've been studying too long when I say that the lounge has a cycle to it and I'm thinking the lounge is like a giant tank circuit... it needs an album to top it up every so often.

What are some of your favorite quotes?
^That one. Made me feel so much better about the prequels.

I Ate Jelly Babies.
Or at least The Doctor in his younger days... that's how I found out about their existence... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfisgGuuUD8]YouTube - Every Jelly Baby Scene - Doctor Who[/ame]

I Ate Jelly Babies.
^That's because they're British.

I Ate Jelly Babies.
They're goood. I had thought that they were a type of gummy bear at first, but they're not at all. They're sort of powdery and a little bit crunchy on the outside with soft jelly like a jujube in the middle. And it's too easy to go through a whole bag in a hurry. :uhoh:

All the cool people are leaving
I remember that. I was worried it was near where you were and checked that you had logged on here after it happened, so I didn't totally freak out after you didn't post for a while, but I still worried. As did many, I think. It's weird this internet- something can happen anywhere in the world and it isn't just on the news anymore, it can affect anyone.

Albums of the Year 2009 *Now Closed*
Changing the thread title. It clearly isn't September anymore. *points at first post in this thread* 25 albums at the most. At least 5 albums for your list to count. It will end sometime in December. Yes it is, and sometimes it's not even accurate. But it is a great resource for people who need a little chronological help. Yeah, it seems like an era is sort of winding down after a peak around 2005-2007. There aren't so many new bands breaking through any more. But music always moves in cycles. Time will tell, I guess. V Yes. Not sure how out there, but worth a listen. And there's Malajube's new album if you can handle a bit of French. How about I add it to the front page for now, and you tell me when you post your final list so I can update it. Or you can always just edit this up to the deadline. I keep hearing about them. What are they like? Yes, that's the nature of this sort of list. But years on it will be interesting. Edit away. You still have 2 months left.

I Ate Jelly Babies.
I've never had any before. They don't sell them here. I've wanted to try them for a few years now, and I finally found some in a local British grocery store that imports lots of candy. And oh my goodness, they're the best candy ever! :cheesy: Sooo good. And unlike anything else I've ever had. Someone pleeease start selling jelly babies in Canada! PLEASE!

All the cool people are leaving
Exactly. Lots of waves of people I really liked have left and I was always sad when it happened. And we all made threads to bellyache and be a bit blue about it. This is the only place where people are really going to understand that- try bellyaching to your parents or a good friend some time. It usually ends up in threats to restrict internet access. They don't get it. It's just a board full of strangers to them.

All the cool people are leaving
Pretty good. Life as a career student continues, though it's starting to grate. But I will have a real job soon(ish), so there's a light at the end of the tunnel. How's life going for you? I have this funny feeling that some day years from now some of us will still get together online just out of habit, even if the site is gone by then... No, more like Aragorn- far older and wiser than he seems at first, but still capable of taking on a bunch of orcs himself. That smiley still scares me. :uhoh:

All the cool people are leaving
We're at the end of an album cycle. This always happens. Sorry you miss your friends. :( New people show up while Coldplay are on the radio and touring and the whole place is jumping with all this excited energy and it seems like it's always like that. But it isn't- there's always a lull between the end of a tour and the release of the next album. Click the site rank box at the bottom of any screen here and check the stats if you don't believe me. The great thing is that this is the time when the people who stick around finally have the space to really get to know each other. I spent a lot of my time here after X&Y in the music section finding out about lots of new bands I hadn't heard of before. That was also when alias day was invented. Less is happening spontaneously, so people have to pitch in more to make things happen. :juggle: And then a new album comes out and it all goes crazy again.

Coldplay + Disney:(
Wow... all the kids in the video made Coldplay look like the old men out there, especially with all the dirt on them. Does not compute. :dizzy: Well, I know he was half joking at the time, but Chris has said he wished Coldplay stuff showed up in karioke things more often. Makes sense to me they would let it happen. (And I'd still take that one little game over the twihards ruining large chunks of both fantasy AND music fandom... I can't escape them no matter which of my escapist boltholes I run to :bigcry:)

It's too early to put on pants.
Uh last time I was in a public highschool most of the kids there were wearing pajama pants just for the sake of it. :uhoh:

[Article]The Brits: Why They Can't Be Trusted With Music
Well really, I have a couple of thoughts. Besides this guy is a pretentious ______ . (Fill in blank with appropriate unrepeatable derogatory swear word.) 1. As all the examples we're giving in this thread illustrate, you can't judge a music scene by the pop charts. The real scene where all the art and great music is happening, and which all the people who say "the ____ scene is so awesome!" are referring to often doesn't make it to the top of the charts. It just lasts longer afterward. 2. I say that sort of stuff about the British scene being the greatest on the planet all the time. I'm Canadian and therefore overexposed to American (and Canadian for that matter) crap. Squared. It's hard to notice anything good coming out of America under the drone of all the lady Gagas and PCDs. British music sounds different and cool to me. But then I don't have to put up with Girls Aloud either. They just don't exist here. The guy who wrote this is a Brit living in America. If I was born British, I would probably think America was pretty cool. I would probably want to live there kind of like I want to live in Britain now. That's the sort of person I am. Grass is always greener. It's not hard to imagine that it was similar for him. So of course he is going to be biased. It's all what he left behind. There's a word for that: Ethnocentrism. But yeah, the guy is still a jerk.

[Article]The Brits: Why They Can't Be Trusted With Music
You don't want to know. :shame: And don't forget the Nickleback. Or what many consider to be the greatest Canadians, Bachman Turner Overdrive and it's predecessor The Guess Who And then there's Rush... *scratches head* And then there's Joni Mitchell... And Hey Rosetta! :nice: And Final Fantasy. And Caribou.
