  1. I, personally, think they're a shoo-in for Live Act. And, really, I think that's the most important of all the categories. You KNOW you're a good band when your live acts are amazing. And Coldplay are second only maybe to U2. :) I'm hoping they break out something new and exciting and give poor Talk a break. It's a great song live and very energetic, but they've played it at every award show since the single came out and then some. Questions: Who else it nominated for Live Act and when exactly are the Brits?
  2. Aw. Cute interview. Thanks alot for this!
  3. Nettie, where are those pictures from? Because Jonny's playing his old beat up Jazzmaster and the guitar that he uses in A Rush of Blood. And they look very recent. I can only ay that that is AMAZING. (And, you know, I just realized... that he uses his Jazzmaster in Shiver.) (Yes... I'm a total obsessed nerd.)
  4. ROFL. "Yay!"
  5. It's no problem. But I can understand what you're feeling though. We Coldplay fans get a hard time for being... well... Coldplay fans. And it really is quite fusterating, because you invest so much (Emotionally and financially) into this band that you love to the ends of the earth and people are constantly tearing it down. And the joke about U2 dying WAS uncalled for. I remember me and my sister were watching a show about John Lennon's death and she turns to me and says "What if that was Chris?" I was very close to crying just at the distant thought. U2 is obviously very important to you and it's understandable that'd you react like that. Personally, I think it says enough when Kelly Clarkson, a God damned American Idol beats out PAUL MCCARTNEY. Need I go on? But... yeah. They're both amazing bands who were at a lousey awards show. The end.
  6. ^ Which is interesting that you say that, because I observed, after watching all the award show performances I have on my computer (Yes, even the 2003 Grammy performance) was how the band doesn't perform NEARLY as well compared to when they're in front of their fans. When it's for the industry it's all very... business as usual. You know? They feed off the fans. As they should. They shouldn't feed off the industry. Please don't leave an_cat. We're bitter, spoiled Coldplay fans and are morning the loss of something we thought for sure would be ours. But you're one of the funniest members on this board and it wouldn't be quite as interesting without you. :)
  7. AND WE LOVE YOU AN_CAT!
  8. Holy shit. He was like... having a sexual experience. I felt like I should've looked away. Omg... that was still amazing. Musical orgasms are the greatest.
  9. Hey, Buckland does strange things to my motor/communication skills. I couldn't possibly listen to that clip operating heavy machinery or anything.
  10. Jonny. Is. Teh. Awesome. I heart him so.
  11. I LOVE how Will was just bent over the drums with his head down. Aw he's so cute. Sorry... not the Will thread. *Cough* And those two are so cute. :)
  12. I'll agree with whoever said that both albums are niether of the bands' best, but put seperatly together, X&Y is, without bias, the better album. How To was definatly recycling of earlier U2 and I can honestly say, after purchasing the album about 5 months ago, there isn't a song that really grabs me at all. X&Y was much more daring and different for Coldplay and just has better songs. U2 only won because it's U2. And they HAVE to win right? I think if Coldplay were put into the Alternative category (like they SHOULD'VE been) they would've won hands down. They only put them in the Rock category because it was televised and they knew thousands of Coldplay fans would tune in to watch. And I really think Arcade Fire should've won for Best Alternative. All and all, the Grammys just succeed in royally pissing me off.
  13. I kinda wish that they weren't doing this second leg. I think the guys are so absurdly burnt out with touring and this album. I think they just want to record. Chris' voice does sound a bit strained. They're all tired.
  14. I don't really think they should've been in the rock category anyways. I think the only reason why they were put there was because of how popular they've gotten. I agree that U2 is amazing, but their new album really wasn't that impressive. But I do agree that everyone in the category was well deserving and it's better to lose to U2 than to anyone else. :)
  15. A collab between the Gorillaz and Madonna. it was pretty good. A "colab" in the strictest sense. Madonna basically stole the whole thing.
  16. I think just felt like they needed to let McCartney and U2 take the spotlight. I think they feel very overexposed. There weren't even any real stage affects or anything (Like special lights). It was just as if it were a Coldplay concert. Although I agree with alot of you that a performance at the Grammys should be special, I think they felt dwarfed. And, they're probably incrediably sick of their own record and every song on it. Poor Coldplay. :( It was still a brilliant performance though. I squeed so loud when Jonny like... rocked out man. Lets just hope they actually win something at the Junos/Brits and make a special performance.
  17. OMG THEY JUST LISTED SOME ARTISTS PERFORMING AND THEY SAID COLDPLAY. AND GUESS WHO THEY SHOWED? NOT CHRIS. JONATHAN BUCKLAND!!!!!!! I CAN'T GET CAPS LOCKS OFF.
  18. OMG I'M FREAKING OUT. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT CHANNEL CBS IS IN ATLANTA GEORGIA. AHHHHHH
  19. AW. Will with glasses!
  20. I KNOW. NO ATLANTA? COME ON!! Ahem... Will, always prepared, got out a can of...
  21. Um... I REALLY love to know what spurred that picture.
