  1. I know i'm a bit late but i just got my CD :D
  2. So, i think i'm one of the few who thinks MX > VLV... i loved VLV but i think that, as an album, MX is better
  3. Good things: Almost everything, here i go... The cohesive-ness (i don't know if that's an actual word) of the album The way they balanced things between rockers, acoustic stuff and pop-y, sinth-y songs like Princess of China The fact that i keep finding out little details about the whole story in the songs, things that i had previously heard and now have a new meaning (for example, the 'all the kids, they dance' bit in ETIAW that i now know refers to the Car Kids gang) Speaking of ETIAW, i liked it when it was first released but, to be honest, i was a little underwhelmed by it but now that i've heard it along with M.M.I.X i like it a lot more and i actually think it's one of the best and most important songs on the album Charlie Brown Hurts Like Heaven and Us Against The World, enough said Up With The Birds as the album closer, i actually think it matches the likes of Amsterdam and Everything's Not Lost/Life Is For Living as the best album closers A Hopeful Transmission/Don't Let It Break Your Heart, pure Coldplay genius Bad things: That they left out Moving To Mars, i know it didn't fit in with the whole urban thing but i still like it A LOT, a little too much enoxification for my taste but i'm fairly certain that they'll grow this phase out and get rid of Eno eventually.
  4. Hurts Like Heaven, Charlie Brown and Us Against The World :D
  5. I made a thread about this, check it out :) http://coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5050463
  6. They all have around 70 or 80 plays except ETIAW, i skip it because i heard it day and night when it first came out and now i'm kind of tired of it (i still like that song a lot, though), but yeah, i guess periahdark is right and it's an album that works great when you listen to it all the way through :)
  7. THIS :) a departure is a great word to describe what they're doing and i also happen to think that it's a good thing that they're trying out new things, i read in some other thread that when they part ways with Eno, they'll make another Parachutes-sounding album, we just have to wait but, for now, i really like this stage they're in
  8. I was gonna say that only Chris sings that part in the studio version but nope, i just heard it again and they do sing in a chorus (at least Will does) so i don't know but it does sound a lot better live, it's the only tiny complain i have about the studio version...
  9. Personally, i don't agree with this at all... UFO might be sub-par but i think that's because our expectations were so high and i think that UATW is the best acoustic song they've put out since Green Eyes
  10. I hope that when (and if) they release an EP, they do a makeover of the song enhancing the 'light a fire...' bit just like they did with Lovers In Japan...
  11. 1 Mylo Xyloto/Hurts Like Heaven 2 Yellow 3 In My Place 4 Major Minus 5 The Scientist 6 Strawberry Swing 7 Daylight 8 Lovers In Japan 9 Paradise 10 Us Against The World 11 Up In Flames 12 Sparks 13 Dont Let It Break Your Heart 14 Viva La Vida 15 Charlie Brown 16 Fix You 17 Up With The Birds ------------------------ 18 Clocks 19 Amsterdam 20 M.M.I.X./Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall I know it's a looongshot but this would be my dream setlist :)
  12. I agree with a lot of people in this thread... i think there's no such thing as the 'worse' album, in my oppinion, their least accomplished effort is VLVODAAHF, it's the one i like the least but it's still better than 95% of the albums out there :)
  13. Yes, it's reminiscent of Til Kingdom Come also, i'm glad they didn't 'enoxificate' it and it kept it's old-school feel :)
  14. The first couple of days, i was really smitten (though 'obssesed' would be a better way to describe it) with Hurts Like Heaven, now the ones i listen to the most are Charlie Brown and Us Against The World
  15. Yellow - DLIBYH Clocks - Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall Fix You - Princess Of China Viva La Vida - Charlie Brown And personally, Us Against The World reminds me SO MUCH of Sparks, Chris' voice, the music, everything, i definitely think it's one of the new album's highlights :)
  16. I don't know if this subject has been brought up in some other thread, if it has, please don't kill me... We should all tweet/comment on Facebook/ask the Oracle for the lyrics to be posted on the site as soon as possible cause i'm afraid that if we don't put some pressure on them, they'll take their time just like they did with Paradise and i want them now :p What do you guys think?
  17. THIS! But it also has some really strong songs :)
  18. For me, it's 1. Hurts Like Heaven 2. Charlie Brown and 3. Us Against The World
  19. I posted this on some other thread, when the album leaked, i downloaded it really early on monday and i took my iPod to work so i could listen whilst walking, i was walking through a park when UATW came on and it was such a beautiful song that i just had to sit down to soak it all in and i cried a little bit during the 'if we could float away...' bit. Also, i've cried a few times while listening to Sparks, it's such a melancholic song and it reminds me of a bunch of stuff
  20. 'See the arrow they shot trying to tear us apart, took the fire from my belly and the beat from my heart, still i won't let go of youuuuu.... you use your heart as a weapon and it hurts like heaven' 'I know the sun must set to rise' 'Light a fire by the spark, light a fire, a flame in my heart, we'll run wild, we'll be glowing in the dark' 'And if we could float away, fly up to the surface and just start again and lift off before trouble just erodes us in the rain, just erodes us in the rain, just erodes us into roses in the rain' 'And I know, i swear, we'll find somewhere the streets are paved with gold' 'You're holding in your hands the two halves of my heart' 'When you're tired of racing and you find you never left the start, come on baby, don't let it break your heart' 'Float all over the world just to see her again and i won't show i feel any pain even though my armour might rust in the rain' It's such a great album :)
