This song is like a Coldplay/Arcade Fire mix to me.

I still don't feel as though we've gotten a very clear review on the music itself. This is a little better than the other reviews we've seen, though. I'm a little troubled that this is NME's lowest score for a Coldplay album, right? Anyway, thanks for the scans.

This in awesome. Thanks for the information! Question: Was Viva la Vida noticeably extended on the album? The single we've heard is called a "new edit" on itunes, so just wondering. Also, are there a lot of places where Chris stops singing and the band just plays around for awhile? We've certainly heard this on Lovers in Japan and Life in Technicolor, so is it common throughout the album?

I'm afraid that many publications will rate this album lower than X&Y, recalling that they overhyped that album... I'm sure plenty of the journalists that gave X&Y 4 or 5 stars regret it now.

Everything about this album (so far) has a uniquely creative vibe that I'm really loving... I think it's brilliant.

I, too, hear an echo of "Harmless"... And I hear a little bit of a connection to Oasis's "Songbird" on words like "one". This is a very lovely song, though.

I think it's pretty awesome that they're playing Chicago right after Lollapalooza... I'll be there for the festival, so I'll probably just stay the extra day. Radiohead and Coldplay back to back... I'll likely die.

The recent complaints about Viva la Vida and Coldplay's "new sound" have got me wondering about what Radiohead fans said around the release of Kid A. I was only eleven at the time, so I don't remember anything about it. But if some people are disturbed by this transition for Coldplay, how horrible was the reaction to Radiohead's transition?

I think the initiative with "global reach" may very well be the soccer promos.

Does anyone else get some sort of Asian club pop vibe from this song? I like it, but it'll take a while to get a fair comparison to Violet Hill.
